    Descrição

We are a small, family-run lodge located directly on the shores of Lake Atitlán in the peaceful village of Tzununá. Surrounded by beautiful views and right on the water, our place offers a private beach and excellent swimming conditions. We currently host guests in 6 private cabanas/apartments, as well as 8 beds in a shared dorm.
We are looking for one experienced, independent volunteer to join our team. We prioritise stays of at least two months or longer and are specifically seeking individuals with previous hospitality experience who can confidently take on responsibility from the start.
In exchange, we offer accommodation, two meals per day while on shift, laundry, a share of the tips, and two days off per week. You’ll also have access to paddleboards and tubes to enjoy the lake during your free time.
We value people who are adaptable, grounded, and enjoy working as part of a team. Strong customer service skills are essential, as well as a willingness to support in a variety of tasks around the lodge.
Our lodge was co-created by Fiona and Chris in collaboration with a local family. What started as barren land has been developed over the past 14 years into what it is today, and we have been welcoming guests for around 10 years.
We are proud to employ staff from the local village of Tzununá. Our Workaway volunteers support with tasks that require prior experience, with the long-term goal of training local team members to take on all roles in the future.

You’ll be working alongside a team of 7–8 local staff members from the nearby village of Tzununa, as well as 3–4 fellow Workaway volunteers. The local team primarily speaks Kaqchikel, with Spanish as their second language, offering a unique cultural and language immersion experience.
As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to connect with the local community, learn about indigenous customs and traditions, and improve your Spanish in a natural, day-to-day setting. Beyond the work exchange, there’s plenty of time to enjoy everything the area has to offer—exploring the lake, swimming, paddleboarding, hiking, and socializing with people from around the world.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in both adventure and personal growth. You can also visit nearby villages like San Marcos to take part in yoga classes, holistic workshops, and other enriching activities, making your stay both fun and meaningful.

We are currently looking for one motivated individual to join our team and help run the lodge. The role includes assisting at reception, checking rooms, supporting the team around the property, and helping with general day-to-day operations.
Ideally, you’ll have some experience in hospitality—especially in restaurants—as you may also help guide and train local staff. We’re looking for a reliable, proactive all-rounder who enjoys working with people and being part of a team.
In exchange, we provide accommodation, meals, and a share of the tips.

We are located directly on the shores of Lake Atitlán, with both road and boat access, and just 20 minutes from the holistic hub of San Marcos. Positioned perfectly between San Marcos and Tzununá, the lodge is an ideal base for exploring the lake and surrounding villages.
Getting around is easy, whether by local boats or road, making it simple to experience everything the area has to offer. In your free time, you can enjoy complimentary use of tubes and stand-up paddleboards, relax on our private beach, swim in the lake, or head out on one of the many beautiful hikes nearby.
The lodge itself has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and is a fun place to volunteer. Past Workaway volunteers have consistently had a great experience here—and many end up extending their stay longer than they originally planned.
