Hello! My name is Tom and I'm from Manchester UK. At the start of 2025 I left my job to travel & volunteer around the world, to see how other people live, and to learn about the world around me.

I'm really keen to join projects that are community-based where there is opportunity to exchange with others, especially anything where I can pick up some new hands-on skills e.g. carpentry, farming, gardening. If this is out in nature, even better.

I'm chill and easy-going, sociable, while also appreciating my time alone to recharge. Tidy, organised, reliable, and highly respectful of others' personal space - I've lived in shared spaces for many years and know how to keep things running happily and smoothly.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I worked as a volunteer in hostels in Georgia and Sri Lanka for 3 months in total, so I'd be a good addition for any housekeeping/reception work.

I also spent some time working on an organic farm in Nepal. I'm by no means an expert, although I am physically fit, and keen to learn more about farming/permaculture.

I taught English in a conversational language cafe in Istanbul, so language teaching/exchange is something I'm also comfortable with.

Besides this, I would really love to learn more about carpentry, gardening, and small-scale farming.

My professional background is in social sciences research, so I can also lend a hand to any boring admin work you might want to get out of the way ;)

I play guitar and a little bit of piano - I would really love to be hosted by other musicians :)

I'm also into hiking, swimming, baking, a good card game, going for a run, and being humiliatingly bad at chess.
