Hi! I'm Rebecca and I am 22 years old.
I have always been interested in traveling and discovering. Traveling for me does not only mean getting to know the tourist destinations or taking pictures of the landscapes, I have always been attracted by the cultural context that revolves around the places I visit: the people, their way of communicating, reasoning and seeing life.
I am a very curious, empathetic and cheerful person, who likes to learn and teach.
I like adventures but also quiet days, I like to explore but also learn manual skills.
I consider myself a flexible person, I adapt to situations with ease, I like change and in fact I believe that change is the best way to grow.
I think my greatest skill is the ability to learn from others all the time.
When I was 16 years old I was an exchange student, I lived for a year in Peru. I arrived there with a typical European worldview but by living with the locals, interacting, discovering, even arguing, I realized how different, vast and unique the world is. I decided to learn from others that we are not all the same: this for me is the meaning of my travels and the reason why I decided to get involved with Workaway.
I am Italian, I like to cook and I hope to be a good company with those who will host me.
I come from a region in southern Italy called Basilicata, it's a small region not very well known.
Unlike other parts of Italy, my region does not enjoy such a large flow of tourists and perhaps it is better that way: the environment, nature, parks are preserved and still maintain their magic.
I live in a country house, I have 5 dogs, a few chickens and in my life I have always been in contact with animals, plants and country life.
My family owns an oil mill and several hectares of olive groves, we have been producing organic extra virgin olive oil for about 60 years and for some years now I have been giving my contribution to the farm.
It is difficult to describe oneself simply by writing a few sentences, but I hope I have given you an idea. I'm very excited to start this new journey and I hope to meet you soon.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have a degree in Oriental and African Languages and Cultures, specifically I studied Contemporary Hebrew and Arabic.
My course of study focuses on linguistic but also cultural knowledge of the geographical area of my interest.
I have studied the history, religion, geography, and philosophy of the Middle Eastern regions.
Of course I speak Italian (which is my mother tongue), Spanish and English but I'm still not very good with Hebrew and Arabic (they are really difficult!!! :') ).
I like very much all sports, I like photography, I like to paint or any kind of art, I like to cook and I love to try the typical dishes of every new place I visit.
I would also like to pursue volunteer work to help people in need.
My family owns an oil mill and we produce our own oil, for a few years now I've been helping out too: helping with customers who use our service, in the bottling room or with the orders we receive from our website.
During harvest time, I also help with the olive harvest along with my father, sister and other relatives and friends.
