Description

We are a married couple intentionally choosing to experience cultural exchange through everyday life, learning by doing, and contributing in a practical, reliable, and respectful way.


Nicholas is a software engineer currently taking a sabbatical, using this time to step away from a fully digital routine, improve his communication in English, and experience different cultures through daily life. Joice is an intercultural psychologist, working online with a reduced workload, and seeking more hands-on, people-centered experiences alongside her professional practice.
We are both genuinely interested in understanding how people live day by day — their habits, food, family relationships, values, and rhythm of life. For us, work exchange is about real cultural immersion, not tourism.


We complement each other very well. Joice brings strong listening skills, emotional awareness, and a calm, supportive presence. Nicholas is practical, steady, and focused on keeping routines working smoothly. Together, we create a balanced, collaborative, and easygoing dynamic that fits naturally into shared environments.
We are responsible, committed, and honest. We take agreements seriously, respect schedules, and value clear communication. Hosts and teammates often describe us as reliable, kind, and easy to live and work with.


We enjoy practical, hands-on activities such as:

- caring for shared spaces and supporting daily routines
- basic maintenance and renovation (painting walls, windows, furniture)
- gardening, caring for plants, small crops, and outdoor tasks
- cooking, cleaning, organizing, and general support work
- working as a team and helping projects stay structured and functional


We are open to learning new skills and appreciate hosts who enjoy teaching and sharing knowledge. We’re especially interested in projects with real cultural exchange and close contact with local life, such as family projects, community or cultural initiatives, and small-scale agriculture with basic structure.
Because Joice continues to see a few clients online, stable and reliable internet is important for some weekly video calls. Aside from that, we are fully present, flexible, and engaged in the daily activities of the project.


We value welcoming, respectful, and organized environments with clear expectations and mutual commitment. We’re not looking for party-focused or chaotic settings. A basic level of comfort and structure (such as proper bathrooms, hot water, and an organized living space) helps us stay grounded and fully involved.


More than anything, we hope to be part of a place where trust, collaboration, learning, and genuine exchange happen naturally — and where our presence truly supports the project and the people involved.
