Hi everyone!

My wife (29) and I (34) are setting off for a year of volunteering starting in October 2026.

I did some volunteering about 10 years ago—spending 1.5 months doing farm and building work in Poland and Belgium, plus 3 months helping out in a hostel in South Korea. Loved every bit of it! Career-wise, I spent 6 years running 30 short-term rental apartments and the last 4 years working as a software developer. My wife has a degree in Nature Conservation (mostly focused on Hungarian ecosystems, so she's eager to learn new environments firsthand), but works in administration.

We are preparing to build our own eco-retreat and wildlife haven in Hungary based on permaculture principles. Before we break ground, we want to spend a full year getting our hands dirty, learning from different sustainable setups, and meeting great people along the way.

What we are looking for:

- Permaculture farms & homesteads: A massive plus if you have cows! I genuinely love cows and plan to keep them on our own farm later, so I’m very keen to get hands-on experience feeding, handling, and caring for them.

- Guesthouses & eco-lodges in nature: Anywhere scenic and quiet away from big cities.

- Animal sanctuaries & wildlife projects

- Coastal spots: Anywhere near the water with good snorkeling or scuba diving nearby is a huge bonus for our time off!

- Meditation & retreat centres

A bit more about us:
We are non-smokers, very rarely drink, have completely flexible diets, and keep our living spaces clean and tidy. We're reliable, easy-going, and excited to help out.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Manual & farm work: Gardening, fencing, general maintenance, and daily animal care.

Guesthouse help: Check-ins, guest support, day-to-day operations, and thorough cleaning/room turnover.

Childcare & family help: While we don’t have kids of our own, we frequently babysit our two nephews (ages 1 and 4), so we are very comfortable keeping young kids entertained and safe.

Pet & animal care: We have two pet bunnies at home and love animals, so we're happy to look after household pets or help with livestock.

Tech & organization: Sorting out tech/Wi-Fi issues, managing bookings/spreadsheets, and general admin.

Driving & logistics: I hold a full driver's license and am comfortable driving.

English practice & general chores: I speak fluent English, my wife is intermediate, and we're happy to jump in wherever an extra pair of hands is needed.
