  • Description

Family is our absolute number one priority in life, followed closely by adventure and connection with Mother Earth, and we are so grateful to be raising an incredible human together around the world.

Char always knew she wanted to be a mother, and had always dreamed of raising her children to appreciate different cultures, respect and live in harmony with the Earth and all of her creatures, love adventure and trying new things… Now as we look at our four year old daughter, we can safely say that we think we’re doing a pretty good job at that.

Our daughter loves making new friends, practices kindness and empathy for others and our planet, loves exploring new places, learning new things, trying new fruits… and she absolutely thrives off of adventure!

We are passionate about growth and building the new earth together through the understanding that we all have different gifts and puzzle pieces to bring together in the healing of the collective.

We feel that human connection and collaboration hold the key to so much beauty in this life, and we would love to get to learn from other families around the world, while showing our daughter different ways of living!

We are so grateful to raise her wherever we choose in this world, around other children, and spending most of our time out in nature. As long as we are outside, getting messy, learning new things… we are more than happy. We don’t need much — just a simple life that we get to spend together.

We hope that volunteering as a family will help us connect with other families who see things in a similar way, so we can collaborate and bring our visions to life together! Our ideal day would be waking up in nature, eating fresh foods, learning new skills as a family by helping together on a project (our daughter loves everything about animals, building earth homes, learning about gardening, cooking, and so much more), being able to support another family with their children as we’re both so passionate about working with kids and parents, having beautiful conversations about growth and visioning with like-hearted parents, jumping in a river to cool off, snacking on fresh fruits, exploring together, watching the sunset and having a bonfire where the kids can be free to dance and play.

There’s no point in all of us doing it alone - if we have similar visions, it makes so much sense to come together. We feel that workaway is the secret to stepping into this life before we have an eco property of our own one day!

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We love spending time with kids! We know a couple different languages, including Spanish (Andy - Guatemalan is perfectly bilingual), some Indonesian, and can help teach English. Children all tend to gravitate towards us and love spending time with us and our daughter. We get messy, creative, and are very emotionally attuned to young children with all of the waves of feelings that come along with being a human. Char has a background in singing and dancing, and can teach both. Andy loves drawing, painting, basically any kind of arts and crafts, and is great at teaching art to children. Music and art are a big part of our lives. We would be happy to help with gardening, cooking, running errands, caring for animals, fishing, really anything at all that can be taught! If we don’t know it yet, we’re open to learning. Char is also highly skilled in video and photo editing — and happy to help create some promotional content. Specializing in Instagram, and working online to support our family as we travel. Andy takes awesome photos and videos of us as we travel that can really help tell the story of how beautiful a place is. We could go on but basically, we’ll help wherever needed. Especially if children are involved!

Andy grew up in a religious household and early on had leadership roles at church through which he received various trainings focused on working with children and teenagers. He went on to focus on missionary work in Guatemala, translating for medical teams in remote villages and volunteering for 6 months at an NGO working with children in the heart of the Guatemalan jungle, working in construction and education. Although he would no longer consider himself a religious man, the more he has focused on his mental health, healing, spirituality and his role as a father, the more he has found that this type of work is what he is truly passionate about. That being said, he has over 14 years of work experience in the customer service world. Though the bulk of his experience was in training people, he has also managed teams and worked in website design (Wix), automating spreadsheets and reports. He has taught English at 2 different academies and worked with people of all ages. He has worked at a hotel and his last official job was as the manager of a surf hostel, supporting tourists and a program releasing baby turtles. He is now a full-time papa, learning through life with his 4 year old daughter.

  • Autres infos...

We love music, art (Andy is amazing at doing art with kids!), spending lots of time in nature. Also forgot to mention we’re really great at teaching kids to swim! Andy taught his nephew to swim completely alone at 2 years old, and our daughter started swimming 100% alone at 2 years old too. We love cooking, baking, super interested in learning more about gardening and natural building and how to live sustainably! Our daughter is obsessed with coconuts and fresh fruits. We could go on but would love to just have a conversation and see how we can all help each other out!
