Kia ora! My name is Tes (short for Tessa), and I've been working and traveling around Aotearoa since January 2025. Currently I am traveling and looking for Workaway opportunities in October before beginning a series of Great Walks.

**A bit about my personality: I'm an extroverted-introvert who can talk a lot over a cup of coffee or gardening tasks. I'm a bit of a nerd, love sci-fi books, and also reality television (Married at First Sight, Love is Blind, Jersey Shore, you name it). Currently I'm trying to improve my yoga practice, guitar skills, and pottery techniques. I also draw comics and doodle a lot ~ I am LGBTQ+ so it's important that I stay with hosts who are okay with that!

WORK PITCH & EXPERIENCE IN AOTEAROA:
- I am a diligent and hard worker who likes to keep my hands busy during the day. I am also a quick study and am not afraid to ask questions so don't worry I promise I won't weed out all of your garden perennials. I also try to stay physically active with beginner/intermediate yoga, walking and outdoor work. Workaway is great for me because it allows for a mix of "stillness", work, and opportunity to meet new people and help out the community :)

- I have worked for one Workaway host in Methven doing weeding, housekeeping, chores, and taking care of chickens and dogs! My second workaway I am currently at is a Yoga Ashram in Raumati Beach. My work is mostly gardening, making new compost, lawn care, cleaning/organizing, and learning Hatha yoga :)
- I also worked a job for 6 months on the Banks Peninsula doing housekeeping at the Akaroa Top10 Holiday park :)

I am very flexible around types of projects and work during our New Zealand stay. I'm not afraid of physical labor and getting my hands dirty! My current strengths are:
*Housekeeping
*Cooking & Cleaning (experience in safe food handling, cooking for families or large groups, and cleaning houses top to bottom)
*Childcare (I currently have five nieces and 15 years of babysitting experience)
*Farm & Garden chores (experience weeding, harvesting, transplanting, cleaning produce, working farmers markets, caring for chickens & dogs)
*Excellent Driver
*Retail, Customer & Organizational work
