Hey there!
I'm Nicolas, a software engineer who is 43 years old. I have a great family: Claire my wife, Anais my 17-year-old stepdaughter, Adam my 11-year-old stepson, Taz our cat (a lovely devil).
I'm emerging from a hard period of renovating an old French village house (1900) made of stones. I spent 2 years of my life working hard every weekend, holidays, and even bank holidays... I learned a lot of skills: traditional lime masonry (lime plasters of exposed stone type, lime concrete slab, etc.), woodworking, modern insulation, tile installation, shower creation, drywall installation, painting tasks, etc. You can find some photos of my renovated house on my profile.
After that, my wife and I returned to our old interests: traveling, biking, hiking. I also fell in love with the Netherlands and decided to learn Dutch. I was not good at foreign languages in school, so I am trying to take my revenge. Dutch is hard but so amazing!
Now, I'm on a mission to dive into new experiences and lend a hand where I can. I would like to improve my English (currently level B2, but lacking speaking practice), and I aim to reach at least B2 level in Dutch (currently A2). Lastly, all opportunities to immerse into Dutch culture are welcome!
Other very very important stuff:
- I'm vegetarian but not vegan (I eat eggs, cheese, milk, ...)
- I love nature, animals, biking, and old architecture.
- I enjoy "oude Nederlandse kaas" and "jonge kaas" as well!
- I appreciate Belgian beers, English beers (IPA, ales, stout), as well as Texels, Jopen, and others... :-)

French is my native language, so I can help you learn it. I would like to speak in English to improve my skills and fluency. I'm interested in having real practical exchanges in Dutch (even though for now I'm a very beginner: A2 level).
