    Description

    ¡Bienvenidos! Thank you for considering Hi-Mission!

    We’re a Christian non-profit (USA-registered since 2006) empowering Indigenous Mexican families from Oaxaca through education, vocational training, and housing. Our 4-hectare property in Santa María, San Quintín, hosts 9–10 families (35–45 people) and includes daycare, workshops, and community programs.

    Our Story
    * Founded in 2001 by our director (originally from South Korea, in Mexico ever since) as a missionary project.
    * First generation kids (2001–2012) now thriving adults: pastors, nurses, teachers, business owners, farmers.
    * Now supporting the next generation (2015–2027) with dedicated volunteers worldwide.

    What We Need
    All skills welcome! Especially:
    * English teachers for daycare kids (Ages: Toddlers to Elementary)
    * Helpers in welding, carpentry, farming, sewing, gardening, hair cutting, bread making
    * Artists/musicians
    * Mechanics for vintage cars (50s–70s) and/or sail boats
    Current Project(s):
    * Local Sailing Program - We're developing a local youth sailing program and are looking for skilled sailors who know how to sail and maintain sailboats as well as gas powered boats!
    Boats & Specs - 34ft Yorktown Sailboat (1984); 43ft Wesfall Sailboat (1985); 24ft Sylvan Gas Powered Boat (1987)
    *We also are looking for any volunteers with shipwright skills as we have many boats that needs restoring/refurbishing/repair!

    **For those coming to assist with the youth sailing program, boat accommodations are also available! Speak with Kevin for details.

    Share your talents—we’ll use them!

    No smoking/alcohol/drugs—family community; volunteers are role models.

    Come Join Us!

    Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

    Volunteers will have the chance to immerse themselves in our local culture, learn practical skills, and enjoy meaningful exchanges with the community. We value curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn by doing. While we’re always happy to answer questions and provide guidance, we encourage volunteers to be proactive and independent in their experience.

    This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy working alongside others, sharing ideas, and discovering new ways of living. You’ll gain hands-on knowledge, cultural insights, and lasting connections — all while contributing in a way that respects both your abilities and our shared goals.
