… read more inspiration in her wholistic approach. The work was a pleasure to do and Rita was clear with her communication even though her English is beginners and also my Italian.
This was my first workaway and the most important thing for me was how Rita and her family supported me to feel at ease. It was a wonderful cultural and human exchange. I experienced kindness joy and laughter and within this we accomplished care for the garden.
Rita's sister prepared the most delicious food every day. In her youthful age of 83 this was a real gift. I also appreciated all of her brothers beautiful sculptures around the garden. He has a true artists soul.
In her free time Rita took me to the most beautiful beaches and cliff top walks. We also visited a number of Nuragic sites. They were of great interest to me because I regularly visit megalithic sites in Ireland.
If you wish to visit Sardinia an experience with Rita and her family will never be forgotten.

Ho trascorso 10 giorni con Rita e la sua famiglia. Sono stato abbracciato alla famiglia dal momento in cui sono arrivato. La posizione della struttura è davvero tranquilla e immersa in una natura meravigliosa. È stato un piacere lavorare nei giardini e lavorare con Rita. È una donna che ha il massimo rispetto e connessione con il suo ambiente naturale. È un'ispirazione nel suo approccio olistico. È stato un piacere svolgere il lavoro e Rita è stata chiara nella comunicazione anche se il suo inglese è da principiante e anche il mio italiano.
Questo è stato il mio primo workaway e la cosa più importante per me è stato il modo in cui Rita e la sua famiglia mi hanno aiutato a sentirmi a mio agio. È stato uno scambio culturale e umano meraviglioso. Ho sperimentato la gentilezza, la gioia e il riso e in questo contesto abbiamo realizzato la cura del giardino.
La sorella di Rita preparava ogni giorno il cibo più delizioso. Nella sua giovane età di 83 anni questo è stato un vero dono. Ho apprezzato anche le bellissime sculture di tutti i suoi fratelli nel giardino. Ha un'anima da vero artista.
Nel tempo libero Rita mi portava nelle spiagge più belle e nelle passeggiate in cima alla scogliera. Abbiamo anche visitato numerosi siti nuragici. Sono stati di grande interesse per me perché visito regolarmente i siti megalitici in Irlanda.
Se desideri visitare la Sardegna un'esperienza con Rita e la sua famiglia non sarà mai dimenticata.

Ospitare Maureen è stata per me una grande esperienza! Lei è una persona eccezionale piena di risorse fisiche, intellettuali ed umane. Una grande lavoratrice nel giardino e nel restauro. L'Arteterapia è per lei un lavoro ma anche una grande passione che contagia e dona a tutti con grande generosità nelle sue varie forme dal canto alla pittura.

I stayed with Rita for 2 weeks in April and she’s a great ambassador of her region. I lived in her brother’s part of the house and felt very welcome since day 1. The house is located in a very quiet area surrounded by nature. We usually shared the lunch and dinner together, the food was exceptional – something new and fresh every day, lots of
… read more vegetables, fruits, great wine and coffee.
We worked for about 3 hours a day during the week, starting around 9 am. I was helping with putting up a fence, mowing grass, fixed the tires of one of the bikes, which I was allowed to use, some gardening work etc.
The only downside for me was the necessity to use the car/bus for moving around the area. Even though Sassari is nearby, there is no sidewalk to walk there, and even if you go by bike, the route is usually downhill, so unless your name is Lance Armstrong, you will probably have to get back by car. Also, everywhere you go it’s up or down the hill, so it helps to be in a reasonable shape.
We went somewhere with Rita almost every day, she would introduce me to her friends, we went for trips to other towns, treks, to the sea. It would probably help to learn some Italian before the trip ;)
After 2 days of stay I felt so calm, as if my nervous system got turned off. I slept like a log and even though I was on my feet most of the day, the recovery was amazing. At that time of the year there are not too many tourists, it’s not too hot, not too cold, great food, the sea, the sun, wonderful Sardinian people, it was a trip of a lifetime.

L'esperienza con Annet è stata molto positiva per me. Mi ha aiutato molto nonostante abbia purtroppo preso il Covid per 10gg. Mi è dispiaciuto per lei. Abbiamo convissuto per tre settimene ed stata molto rispettosa e gentile. Ma fortunatamente starà ancora in Sardegna e potrà visitarla ancora in posti bellissimi! Ti auguro buoni viaggi Annet!!

I will not soon forget my stay with Rita. Rita is a very friendly and nice host. She and also her brother and sister, who live next door, gave me a warm welcome and were genuinel interested in who I am and all my travels.

She also showed me very beautiful places in Sardinia and funny I learned to eat spaghetti with only a fork.
Unfortunately, after about 1 week I got Covid and in the beginning I was quite sick,. I was so sorry that I couldn't help Rita, that period,.
Instead of that, Rita took care of me, and she gave me all the space to recover quietly. .
The last day of my stay , she took me to Alghero and other beautiful places.
Later that afternoon Rita fell very badly from the stairs near the orange tree. The ambulance had to come and took her to the hospital.
It was so unbelievable and sad what happened.
