Description
Gavin is fron South England and Julie is French, we both met in Edinburgh 4 and a half years ago, we both are in love with Edinburgh and the Highlands but so excited to travel inCanada.
Julie -
I Graduated an HND Wildlife and Conservation Management this year I love getting my hands dirty outside, gardening , cooking, helping in General. I love processing food from local sources- foraging and make preserves for winter ( I assist my mum and sister every summer ).
I am passionnate about nature and learn species names, especially Birds and Mushrooms.
I have 6 Years of Hospitality experience ( Housekeeper, kitchen porter, breakfast assistant, barista, receptionnist) and what I love the most is be part of a funny and supportive team.
I have been travelling using Helpx, couchsurfing and woofing in australia for a year and i just loved living staying with locals, this is the best way of travelling and learning about people and local culture.
Gavin -
I have 4 years of hospitality expereince, where I have been a waiter, a deli counter assistant, fishmonger, barback and bartender at both a fish smokery and a high end art deco restaraunt. Coupled with this is 3 and a half years working at an independant book and antiques dealership and in a managerial role with the LEGO Group, before finishing as a Visitor Expereince Team Lead at the Museum of Scottish Fire Heritage with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. In between this was a six month stint as a Games Master for an Escape room and somewhere along the line studying a BA Hons in Film and Video and an MA with Distinction in Screenwriting.
I relish taking on new opportunities and trying my hand at different roles, but most importantly its the thrill of meeting new people, hearing their stories and having a chance to connect with a multitude of people from a whole plethora of backgrounds.Centres d’intérêt
