Description

Hey! We're Jess and Kevin, a couple from Sheffield, UK and Kilkenny, Ireland. Both 27 years old.

We've recently taken a career break from our jobs in London to travel to New Zealand. We'll be in Aotearoa from September 2026 to January 2027. We're planning to travel by car/van around the country and take part in Workaway stays while there.

Through Workaway, we're hoping to meet interesting new people, lend a helping hand, and create new memories on the other side of the world.

We are a responsible, hard working, active, and resourceful couple, keen to offer our help wherever needed in exchange for home stays and opportunities to immerse ourselves in the local culture.

We have a range of professional and voluntary experience, are both fit and active and love being outdoors, we're respectful of other people's space and cultures, quick learners and keen to pick up new skills, and ready to get stuck into wherever we can help!

Kevin is an Irish (Gaeilge) speaker, and happy to teach some basics! We are also both TEFL qualified, and have working knowledge of Spanish. We're always interested in learning a new language.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We have a range of skills and experience, but most of all pride ourselves on being quick learners, adaptable and ready to throw in a hand wherever needed.

Back home, Kev is a chartered surveyor with experience in property development and consultancy services in the UK and Ireland.

Jess works for the UK Civil Service (government administration, policy and parliamentary affairs).

Jess grew up spending summers helping on the family farm in North Wales, helping with the sheep, chickens, and crop growing. While living in across the UK and abroad, Jess has always done regular voluntary work, including working with disabled people, elderly people, and homeless people.

Kev previously worked at a hostel in Prague, carrying out reception duties and ensuring a clean, safe and enjoyable environment was maintained.

Each of us have catering and hospitality experience from working part-time and summer jobs at pubs, restaurants, markets and festivals. We have also both worked at kids summer camps and have years’ experience child minding.

We are both TEFL qualified English teacher and speak conversational Spanish. Kev is bilingual in English and Irish.

We’re active and outdoorsy and enjoy running marathons, hiking, and camping.
