Hello!
I’m Hélène, a French student currently planning a gap year from September 2025 to June 2026.
I’ve been traveling a lot recently and spent almost a year in southern Norway for an Erasmus exchange. I loved the landscapes and the closeness to nature, enjoying hiking and road-tripping.
I’m passionate about sports, especially running and climbing, and I’m always up for adventures and discovering new things.
I enjoy traveling freely, whether it’s sleeping in the back of my car or camping in a tent.
Above all, I love being outdoors ; whether in the forest, the mountains, or the countryside in general.

I speak French and English fluently, and I’m currently learning Italian and Spanish. During my stay, I’d love to improve my level in these languages through practice and exchange. At the same time, I’d be very happy to help others learn or practice French or English. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and making learning fun and interactive.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Taking care of children
I love spending time with children, as I have many young kids in my family. I really enjoy playing with them, helping them with small tasks, and having fun conversations. My cousins and distant relatives are now between 4 and 8 years old, and I’ve been taking care of them since they were babies.
Farming and gardening
I have some basic experience with gardening, as my family lives in the countryside and has a vegetable garden. I haven’t participated much in recent years because I moved away for my studies, but I’ve recently developed a renewed interest. For example, I started growing basil and caring for my plants daily in my apartment (watering, repotting, etc.). I’m very eager to learn more about permaculture and farm work.
Animals
I don’t have pets myself, but I’m used to being around animals in my family, taking care of dogs and cats. I also practiced horse riding for over 10 years, which taught me how to take care of horses and feel comfortable around them.
DIY and handiwork
I’m curious and resourceful, and I enjoy trying to fix broken items or assemble furniture. I’m also learning to sew with my grandmother. At the moment, I’m working on a project to convert my car into a mini-van for my future travels.
Languages
I speak French and English fluently, and I’m currently learning Italian and Spanish. I would love to improve my level in these languages and would be happy to help others practice or learn French or English.
Communication, photos & videos
As part of my political science degree, I took a journalism course where I developed skills in photography, video, and writing. I’m also exploring these areas on my own, creating videos as a personal passion. Now heading towards a master’s in communication, I really enjoy creating content for causes I care about. I’d be happy to help hosts or projects develop their social media, create engaging content, or manage other platforms.
