Hello! My name is Blanca and I live in a beautiful colonial city in Mexico.

Traveling is one of my passions and one of the best ways to step out of my comfort zone and get to know people, cultures, gastronomy, and different ways to see life. I'm thankful for having the opportunity to have visited a lot of amazing countries and have lived in some of them. Workaway is a perfect way to get along with locals and get a better cultural approach while helping other people.

I find myself easy-going and laid back, sincere, caring, helpful, loyal, and honest. I'm also a goal-oriented person; setting goals helps me keep motivated.

I am a quick learner and consider myself responsible and reliable. I am also open to new learning and work well in team environments. I am hardworking and have numerous volunteer hours doing different jobs and services for people and communities.

Some of my volunteering activities include:

-Permaculture: Weeding, watering, harvesting, composting, mulching, planting.

-At hotels: Working in guest services, check-in, picking up tourists, and helping them with tours. My experience also includes painting, repairing and gardening.

-At a food bank: Cleaning, picking, packing, restocking, stocking, portioning, and preparing perishable and bulk items. Also, help clients access food and other resources.

-With migrants and homeless people: Providing people in need with food, clothing, and medical care.

-Volunteering with children: Dressing and bathing them, serving them meals, taking them to school and for walks, participating in children's activities, playing, reading, and going out.

-Assist seniors and adults with disabilities in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, exercise, meal service, music, and entertainment; provide conversation and companionship; and play board games.

-Education: Teaching English and Spanish.

I've worked in the educational field. I learned how to deal with difficult situations and think solution-oriented. I am a quick learner and consider myself extremely responsible and reliable. I am also open to new learning and work well in team environments.

As part of my job, I'm in touch with people from different backgrounds, which I love, because it gives me the chance to be immersed in other cultures, and get to know people from different perspectives and mindsets.

I like to be physically active (I recently walked the Santiago Way) and try to eat healthily.
