Hello to all members of huge workaway-community, we are Artem&Anastasiya!
We have experience of workaway abroad and within our native country and very excited to explore world this way!
It means a lot for us - to help people and expand our personal boarders simultaneously, culture-exchanging experience and that's why we are here.

We live in Hamburg, Germany, but originally from Russia, Moscow, both 40 years old. Passionate about dealing with people and nature, broaden our skills and mindset.
Artem is an design- engineer, likes all technicues things, art projects and animals. Artem is good at all types repairing works, computer tasks and micro-electronics. He is also interested in construction's works, hard-worker.

Anastasiya is a HR-partner, yoga teacher, enjoyed everything with people, animals and gardens.
I was born in a small city, familiar from childhood with working outside, helping grandma in the garden, with animals (we always had chicken, goats, rabbits). Love creating hand-made things: knitting, weaving, sewing, floristics and decorating environment. Also had an experienca as a baby-sitter for the child 3 years old.
Home for me is a very special place - I would be happy to help someone keep it clean/cosy and pleasant for living. As usually like to cook family-style meals for my friends.

True nature lovers, get inspired doing something useful, creating humor and positive atmoshere around.

Pia, Kornelius and all their family are the best hosts!❤️❤️❤️ I was there 2 weeks, but they made me to feel like at home, gave me space, care and attention as I was a family member, this is unbelievable! Their hospitality is on the top level, I am really grateful for these 2 wonderful weeks!

Many-many thanks to Elena and Igor for the time we’ve spent together, for the communication, hospitality and unique experience. We were only one week there but we got a lot of knowledge about herbs and nature of Altay, daily life of people there and visited picturesque and miracle places. If you are still thinking to go or not – just go and you… read more will never regret. Of course, in any experience you can see difficulties and opportunities but it was worth it. Let’s start from the mode of life. We had everything that we needed, separate house for workawayers, summer shower (sometimes really like sauna), eco-toilet, in the house there was heater and cooking plate. Lena gave us also dishes, towels and bed linen. We took all clothes for work with us but they had also from previous workawayers so don’t hesitate and ask if you travel without work’s things. As for the food, our recommendation – take something with you for the first 1-2 meals, that you don’t need to cook, maybe something to put only hot water and that’s it. And also take some portions of your favorite coffee easugarspices and such tiny things that you love in order not to buy 1 kg of sugar and others. For example we have arrived near midnight, before that we were more than 10 hours in a bus, so we were starved, all shops were closed and we could not buy something, and for the breakfast situation was the same. But we were super lucky, tourists stayed behind the wall and they were so friendly that invited us for the meal at night, we were saved. Next day, closer to lunch time Elena gave us some products, dishes and informed us about shops nearby, and bonus – later they showed us local farmers and we bought astonishing milk things, that’s something amazing. One serious minus – absence of fridge, so we could not save food more than one day, the weather was super-hot, plus 36 degrees, it was risky. Couple of times we asked guys and they were so kind to save our products in their own fridge, but due to different day regimes it was uncomfortable for both sides. The huge advantage – that guys plant greens, vegetables and berries so they allowed to eat everything from the garden and we were happy to eat tasty homy salads every day. As for the work we worked on a daily basis 4 hours per day, we chose time ourselves, some tasks need instructions from Lena, for example picking up herbs. Lena told us about all possible tasks and we could choose something every day, we decided to start from weeding roses. Something that was unusual for us at the beginning that we never worked together, so Lena could take us by car to a place for picking up herbs and leave us there. So just be ready to pick up herbs in the forest or in the hill alone, don’t worry - it’s safe, checked! We loved our daily works, hours flied quickly in these beautiful places full of herbs fragrances, we enjoyed nature, but take something anti-insects, there are a lot of mosquitos in the forests. Of course, we had day off and Lena offered and organized one-day trip to mountain and lake, that was amazing, separate thanks for that! Elena also showed us directions for a walk inside the village, picturesque views are everywhere, we walked every day and enjoyed. There are 3 museums in the village, we have visited only 2 of them and seriously recommend to visit, a lot of “food for brains”. Guys collected interesting library in workawayer’s house, it’s one more thing to do in the evenings. When we need to buy something special guys took us to the nearest “bigger” village, went to nice café and always were open to our asks for help. If you haven’t been in Altay before ask them in details about transport. Elena said at once “taxi” but we thought that this is something like Uber, we were so wrong…… it’s much cheaper, looked like mini-bus and they have to phone to reserve place for you, that’s why we could not find information in internet about this transport (so ask!). And our conclusion about transport from Gorno-Altaisk - plane is the best option, but you need to book it in advance, maybe 1-2 months before in summer season. Lena runs a business project, it is partly social and interesting, she combined several local handycraft masters under one roof, it’s like one more museum, I liked to spent time there and looked at all this beauty. Guys are very intellectual, have wide interests and knowledges, so every talk with them was full of insights. Lena can organize excursions (even at nights – super interesting), practices astro-photography and took us with her one night, I will never forget this. So every day we opened something new, wonderful things about our hosts and Altay, we could not be more happy!!!
