Description

Hi, I'm Ana! I'm originally from Mexico City and now live in Playa del Carmen, in the Mexican Caribbean.

For over 25 years I've welcomed people from around the world, first as a Spanish teacher hosting international students in my home, and later as an Airbnb host.

Hospitality has shaped much of my life, and I genuinely enjoy making people feel comfortable and at home.

I'm the mum of an adult daughter and have also worked as an au pair, so I'm happy helping with childcare, cooking and everyday family life. I also enjoy being around animals and have cared for dogs during previous Workaways.

Now that my daughter has grown up, I've been able to return to something I always loved: slow travel. I've completed eight Workaways in England, Ireland, France, Switzerland and Canada, and I'm currently back with the same host in England for the fourth time.

I love running, swimming, hiking, singing, dancing, languages and nature. I speak Spanish and English, I'm learning French, and I'd happily learn a few words of any local language.

For me, the best part of travelling is the connections I make along the way—and that's what keeps bringing me back to Workaway

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Throughout the years I have gathered a lot of experience working internationally.

As a host and housekeeper myself, I have property management and maintenance skills, and I am in charge of my own property (and other properties) and public relations between host and tenant.

As an Au Pair and Nanny, my love for arts (singing, dancing, music, and acting) has been an awesome tool in creating bonds with the kids I've looked after. It's been a good advantage for families that besides English, I also speak Spanish and kids pick up my language fairly quickly through singing and storytelling.

Working with wildlife and domestic animals, I have experience working in shelters and biological research stations. I really enjoy being around animals.
