Lin volunteered in Ireland during March 2026 and made a wonderful contribution to life and work. During their time with us, Lin threw themselves into a wide range of tasks with enthusiasm and care. They helped with our tree-planting meitheal weekend, getting stuck in alongside neighbours and friends planting trees gifted to us by Reforest Nation. They cooked a truly delicious meal for everyone — a real highlight that brought people together. Lin also helped prepare the house for incoming resident artists, including painting the ballroom, and pitched in with gardening around the grounds. Beyond the practical work, Lin was an absolute delight to have around — warm, willing, and a genuinely lovely presence in our community. They brought a positive energy to everything they did and fitted in beautifully. We would wholeheartedly recommend Lin to any organisation or project looking for a dedicated, good-natured, and hardworking volunteer. We hope our paths cross again.

Lea spent one and half month at our place. She arrived with very little practical or gardening skills and absolutely not used to physical work, but she always has been keen on learning and helping. She helped us cleaning out and re-organizing our shed and the land in general after that a storm blew everything around. She helped us while we were pruning our olive trees by cutting the branches in size to be shredded in the wood chipper, and she helped us with chipping them too. She cut the suckers of all our olive trees. She planted succulents, cover crops and veggie plugs with us, she mulched our pathways and put logs on the side of them. She helped us with the construction of a wooden structure, digging holes for the posts and painting the posts, she learnt how to level bricks on the ground and how to make cob too! She is very meticulous in any job she does and a good helper, but she is quite slow and we didn't feel comfortable in letting her working alone. She had a very good connection with some of our cats and dogs but very little interest in all the other animals. Thanks Lea for your help and we wish you good luck with your travels!

I have stayed with Susan for 4 weeks and it was one of the best experiences ever!! Even though it was my first Workaway and also my first real experience with working outside (planting, etc.) nothing was too complicated or too much to ask for! We planted a lot of hedges and also built/painted a lot. We had the incredible opportunity to also be a part of her daughters birthday party, which was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time. Everything was so heart warming and we had just the best of times! Forever grateful for that!! :) Susan is an incredible person, who really let me feel as if I was at home from the moment I arrived. She is very funny and understanding and her cooking and baking really is out of this world. The dinner times together were always such a nice opportunity to chat about the day and improve everyones English as well. I also really miss all of her animals with their lovely personalities. All in all Susans profile perfectly describes the experience and expectations together. I really miss my time there and also all the nice people I got to meet because of it :)

I spent a week at Elspeth and Kim's beautiful property and had a wonderful stay. They were very so kind to pick me up at the local bus station as I didn't have my own car. The accommodation for volunteers is a cozy caravan - but as there were already two other volunteers staying in the caravan, Elspeth was so kind to prepare her office as bedroom for me. We could always have some fresh vegetables and fruit from the garden - from tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes and eggplant to apples and peaches. The work was mostly weeding as it was the end of summer and the ground was not ready for tree planting. Elspeth did show us what the tasks were at the beginning of each day and it was nice to work all around the property. I was lucky to spend also time with the two other volunteers and we went along very well. As they had a van we could explore the area and beaches nearby. If you don't have a car and come by yourself, it might be a bit tricky to explore the region. I can fully recommend this workaway opportunity - thank you so much for your kind hospitality, Elspeth and Kim and hopefully see you soon! :)

I am incredibly grateful to Patrick and the girls for this wonderful experience. I spent three months at the villa, helping during the yoga retreats, and it truly felt like a relaxing holiday thanks to all the activities we shared—hiking, yoga, meditation, exercise sessions, and exploring Valencia. Patrick is not only friendly and funny but also an amazing cook. His meals were definitely one of the highlights of my stay! The neighbourhood is peaceful and beautiful, perfect for outdoor activities. We went on many hikes, and I also enjoyed running — the hills provided a great challenge and made it even more rewarding. The dogs added an extra warmth to the atmosphere and made everything feel even more welcoming. As my first Workaway experience, I honestly couldn’t have asked for more.

I stayed for about a week with Fiona and Peter. A hard working couple who have created a paradise in a breathtaking landscape. I worked in the garden, house and helping with their accommodation. In my free time I went for walks and drove on the ebike - great. I had my own cottage with bathroom and enjoyed nice food with the family and Fiona's great brownie.

Giulia and Francesco stayed for two hectic weeks and they were a great help for me! They agreed to work long days and rather have a extra day off, witch was needed both when we had a celebration in the house with 20 guess. And afterwards had a timelimit to paint in my spare apartment. And we made it. Both Giulia and Francesco are positive people easy to ask, and they challenge themselves with new tasks both regarded to work and on their free time. My experience with Giulia and Francesco was a good one and I would like to recomend them for everyone. Giulia is eager to learn languages, and Francesco has bees on his brain :) and is interested in everything related to bees. Please give them a good exchange and many happy memories!

Our stay with Luke was stunning. Full of fun new experience on a beautiful property all while eating some amazing food with engaging company. We helped clean up from a flood that came through so lots of different work like clearing the river bank, cleaning up scraps that floated down the river, moving rocks, weeding, helping butcher (and eat) pigeons (which taste better than you'd expect) etc. Luke was also very pleasant, knowledgeable, and down to earth. If you get the chance to work and stay here i definitely recommend it.

Stayed here for a month, did some various gardening and some painting. Emma was very convenient with me regarding the time of starting, and if I wanted to do more hours to get more days off I could do so. Van is comfy, useful and well organised, if you don't carry too much stuff ofc. It was overall a great experience and great way to visit Tasmania for me. Emma was very kind and communicative, and Stanley is basically adorable. And the house/garden/forest ... so calming and quiet. Highly recommended!

We spent a month with Susan and Jérôme and their two children, and they were absolutely wonderful hosts. They were very flexible with working hours, allowing us time for activities like kayaking or taking days off when needed. It was an amazing first Workaway experience — a family full of positivity, energy, and generosity. We also discovered vegetarian cooking and eating, which turned out to be a really rewarding experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful and welcoming place, this is definitely the one! thank you for everything 😊

Our time here surpassed all expectations! It was so lovely to get to know Pangiran and Juean and hear stories about the tribe and village life and the history of Pangiran’s family. We did 4 nights on the farm learning to harvest rice and separate the grains. We bathed in the river, had plenty of downtime to watch the animals and explore the farm. We harvested fruit to eat. Juean even helped us go fishing in the pond and we had it for our dinner! Would advise to bring a headtorch for getting around the farm at night. At the village we spent 4 nights, we helped with taking apart the old kitchen, collecting rocks from the river to level the floor then hand mixing concrete to lay down. It was really satisfying work and Juean lovingly got us snacks and tea for our breaks. We had plenty of downtime in the afternoon for at least a 1-2 hours to rest and then would usually be done with our tasks around 4-5pm. We busied ourselves with playing with the local kids, reading, crochet, walking around, extra odd jobs! We were lucky enough to visit during Eid so the extended family had time off work so we had a big family style barbecue and had loads of lovely food - not once were we hungry! On the Sunday we attended church and saw more of the local community which was a lovely insight. This entire workaway spectacular, we learnt so much about organic farming, Borneo, the history of Malaysia, community life, the tribe. Can’t thank Pangiran and Juean enough for their hospitality (I’m pretty sure we got much more out of the experience than them honestly!), also thank you to Nina who volunteers in organising all the workaways and communication with volunteers. Love!

I felt incredibly comfortable right from the start and wasn’t just welcomed as a guest, but truly treated like part of the family. The atmosphere in the house was very warm, open, and relaxed, which made my stay really enjoyable. The kids were just so cute, full of life, and a lot of fun. It was lovely spending time with them. Kathrine and Sebastian are also wonderful, open-minded people who you instantly get along and can laugh a lot with. The time we spent together was definitely one of the highlights for me. The location is also ideal: it’s very easy to get to Wellington by train, which is perfect for day trips. At the same time, the beach is just a short bike ride away. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I would repeat in a heartbeat. I can wholeheartedly recommend this family!

We had a fantastic week volunteering with Bernardo, Maca, the kids and the other volunteers! The farm is beautiful… good vibes and lovely people sharing and building together! We will miss the morning yoga in front of the fire under the giant Oak tree… the home cooked lunches by volunteers from all over the world… and sharing travel stories while we work on building the house together. We hope to visit again soon, thank you!! 🙏🏼

Luckily Cordelia reached out to us and we got to spend almost two weeks at her stunning place in West Auckland! She's a very intelligent, inspiring and generous woman and her dog Suzi is truly the cutest and easiest dog ever. We had a lot of nice conversations, went to a nice river, she showed us the beach that's just a short walk through the bush away and we played lots of games together! Her profile is very accurate and everything is like she described it! Our accommodation was a lovely private cabin in her beautiful garden! The work was really fun and depending on your skills she'll find stuff for you to do! It never got boring and the working time was totally fair. We would always work in the mornings and then have lunch together and in the afternoon we had plenty of time to go out to explore! If you like to cook, she'll be more than if you make dinner on some days. If that's not the case she's a great chef and will make you delicious vegan whole food meals! The area is full of beautiful beaches and places to explore and Cordelia gave us a lot of great recommendations! We also loved to spend time with Suzi and are very grateful that Cordelia let us take her on walks and adventures on our days off! We would 100% recommend her place if you love being in nature and are into gardening or working outdoors!
