Staying with Marc and Kerriane was absolutely a highlight of our time in Australia! We felt so grateful for the opportunity to connect with Australians who are so passionate about their land and lifestyle, helping out for a month on their property! Their generosity was unwaivering and we had a lot of fun getting to know them, their friends, their farm, and the beautiful area they live in. We would recommend, given the opportunity, to stay more than 2 weeks to get accustomed to the daily routines you’ll regularly help out with, such as the dishes. We really enjoyed joining Marc at nursery once a week, removing invasives on the property, helping in Kerrianne's garden, and cooking with their son Jai who has a wealth of knowledge on cooking delicious vegetarian food! In fact, they inspired us to go vegetarian after our stay! Overall, they are really fun folks to hang out with and helped us feel really welcome. Learning to make peppery mango chutney and homeamde saurkraught was a highlight, as well as picking lychees, seeing Marc kitesurf, making countless pies with leftovers, as well as the magical visit we had from one of their resident pythons! In our free time, we really appreciated the initiative they took to get us out to the beach, take us hiking, and introduce us to their friends when going out to open mic nights and concerts! They truly are very generous, kind, fun, and caring hosts! We won’t forget all the great music we listened to together, the many funny stories shared together, all the amazing homegrown foods, and the opportunity to learn about the local ecology of the area! Thank you!!

The two months I spent at the livery were probably the best two months of my life ! I got to work in a gorgeous place, with the sweetest horses and the nicest people. Ryan is an amazing host, always there when you need him, he will make sure you have everything you need and that you feel good. He even found a way to send me back my sandals I forgot in Dublin by asking his daughter to get them for me. Not a lot of people would go this far to help you. I can't say enough good things about everyone I met there because they all were the nicest people I ever met. I felt comfortable right away. I had the chance to work with another Workaway, Heather, and we hit it off right away. She became a true friend and I could not have asked for a better partner in crime. We went on numerous hack on the beach and caring for the horses even when our work was done. The work is pretty easy, you will work only around 5 hours a day so you will have a lot of free time to explore the area. There is a lot of things to see and do around and you're just an hour away from Derry (which I recommend visiting!). You could also ride one of Ryan horses on the beach (wich if a few metres away from the livery), on the road or in the arena. I don't have enough word to say how much fun I had during my stay there and how thankful I am to Ryan and everyone I met there for making this adventure memorable.

It was great to spend time in Monika, Werner and Olivier's home in the beautiful Jura! Monika spent time telling some current and past stories of Switzerland. Werner was helpful in explaining what he needed done and how. We ate so well and varied, it was great for me to learn a few vegan tricks to bring home. I had a good time and everyone was chill and kind. It was easy to find a moment off if needed, or to share activities together. And it's super well served by public transports, despite the remote area. I could go to Geneva for a wee 2 days trip!

I had a very pleasant 2 weeks stay with Michael and Aurelia. They are genuinely kind an respectful. With Michael we worked with good music and had interesting talks. And dinner time is always fun with the boys :) The place by itself is beautiful with an incredible view and the caravan is quite comfy and peaceful. I can confidently recommend a stay there

We enjoyed having Tyler to stay. Once we explained what the task involved, Tyler worked well and got the job done. He was clean and tidy. He helped with some meal preparation which was great. He is a personable and chatty young man.

If you like a quiet and peaceful place you will enjoy this place. It's a very beautiful accommodation with your own veranda and a pool in the garden. In your room you can prepare your coffee or tea. there is also a microwave and a fridge. I felt very welcomed and we had a good community. I could use the car and visited many waterfalls and towns in the area.

I stayed with Pol and Agata for one week, and really enjoyed my time there! Their home is high in the countryside surrounded by cows, with views of the mountains from the windows. I immediately felt welcomed as they were both so generous, good-humored, and very open to sharing their way of life. The structure of the day worked well; usually we started work around 10 and had lunch around 2:30, trading off cooking and cleaning. We made so many good meals with fresh fruits and veggies, exchanged stories, and usually had some chocolate for dessert :) I spent afternoons painting, sometimes baking, or exploring the surrounding area. The work I did was mainly prepping the garden beds for spring, layering soil and compost and planting seedlings. I also got to paint a small mural on the last day. Pol clearly outlined each task, and I picked up lots of permaculture principles and life wisdom. Agata and Pol are both artists, and have a naturally dyed clothing business- so they were hard at work as well and it was cool to see how much we all achieved at the end of the week! I would recommend this Workaway to nature-lovers and anyone open to sustainable, conscious ways of living. Thank you for everything, and I hope to be able to visit again and see the garden in full bloom!! -Sadie

We had a really great three-week stay with them! Charlotte was very flexible, which we really appreciated because we could plan the work together—sometimes working in the morning and having the afternoon off, sometimes the other way around, and also being flexible with days off. In general, the work involved helping out: assisting around the house, doing some spring cleaning, helping in the garden, and playing games with Ziggy. We felt very welcome and played board games almost every evening from day one (we loved it!!). Charlotte always cooked very delicious meals, which we really enjoyed, and they are truly kind and lovely people. With prior arrangement, we were always able to borrow a car, which was amazing—even for longer trips. The house is located in a park which is absolutely amazing—you’ll have so many birds around all the time (including hummingbirds), as well as plenty of opportunities to go hiking or enjoy the lake from their dock. All in all, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it to everyone.

stayed for almost 4 weeks in kelaa and had a wonderful stay! I arrived at the last week of Ramadan and the classes I had were just in the evening so I though I might get bored but the opposite was the case and made me extend my stay. The work was to teach or support German and English classes with very kind students and kids. The work is extremely rewarding. The accommodation is a flat with a rooftop. When we were 6 people it was a bit small but it really worked and it was fun living together. Also the food was provided! We volunteers cooked together. The city has beautiful mountains and parcs which was perfect for me but besides not so many possibilities. Now the most important: the people - everyone is incredibly kind and I really made friends and connections which I’m very grateful for! All the teacher of the school did their best to make our stay special. Like We had picnics, walks, meeting in the cafe and more! Shukran bzzäf for everything!! I hope I’ll return soon 🥰❤️

Mis hijos se lo pasaron genial con ella, Se nos hizo corta su estancia. Nos hubiera encantado que se hubiese quedado más. Podía hablar de cualquier cosa con ella. Cuando quiera es bienvenida en nuestra casa.

Cedric volunteered with us for five weeks and was a wonderful addition to our team. He is friendly, social, and genuinely open to experiencing new cultures and connecting with people from all walks of life. His curiosity and openness made him a great fit for our hostel environment. Cedric works well in a team, listens attentively to instructions, and follows through on his responsibilities with care. He assisted with hosting activities such as hikes, braai nights, games nights, movie nights, and market visits, always showing up with a calm and positive attitude. We also see strong potential for Cedric to continue growing into leadership roles. As he gains more experience, stepping confidently into moments of taking charge will come naturally to him and further highlight his strengths.He is a sweet and gentle individual who brings a warm presence to those around him. We truly appreciated the time he spent with us and wish him nothing but the best in his future travels and endeavours.

I had a great time with Leticia, Victor and Alba for a month in Cartagena. From the very first moment they took me as a part of the family, which helped me a lot, since it eas my first Workaway experience. I helped her in looking after the children after school and sometimes at weekends. We played a lot, went to the park and lived our life together. The mornings were completely free to visit Cartagena and its surroundings. I didn't know this region before and it was surprisingly beautiful. I could even take some dance lessons for which I'm very grateful. By the end of the month I felt a special connection with the kids, specially with Alba, who once even came to my room to relax a bit between two games. And I was also sooo proud of Victor whose self control raised a lot on our last weekend. Leticia is a warm-hearted, open person with a sense of humour I really like and we had deep talks in some evenings.

Alisa stayed with us for three months from September to December last year,She is very young but she learns very fast, after just three hours of teaching techniques and some class observations, she was teaching like a pro, I especially loved the German class we had with her, we had fun while learning; Our students loved her and miss her; Alisa is also hardworking and so organized. Despite the short stay ( if compared to the school year), she manages to teach and learn a dance with the pre- kindergarteners and showed the dance with the kids and the teachers during the Christmas show, I was so touched; She is also so kind , friendly and helpful,she got on well with all the teachers and manages to make a rather introvert teacher to open up with her and with us, She also took part in all the activities at school and took advantages in being around to do some medical training as she is a student nurse. Alisa is a bit sensitive but I love how she is so open so we can help her when needed, we could comfort her at times and we could understand her needs and expectations.I highly recommend her if she asks to volunteer with you or your organizations;Thank you for everything Alisa, please stay in touch, our door is widely open if you come back to Madagascar one day;

We spent almost 5 weeks with Jane and Hugh and were part of their family from the first day. Cutting, nibbling, bending, and tying 6000 grapevines was the main task. With Toby, another Workawayer, and under the patient guidance of Hugh and Jane, we finally managed it in three weeks. In between, we had a lot of fun together during the shared meals (Jane is a great cook), where the house-made wine was always generously poured: White, Rose, Red, Portwine or Fizzy - all are wonderful! Especially the Chickentractor project was a nice break from cutting grapes. In the meantime, 7 charming hens have moved in, and the first egg fell on the 30th of March. The workshops on wine tasting and smoking cheese or fish were also unforgettable, being not only entertaining but also very instructive. Time flew by, and when the day of departure came, we left fully loaded with wines, cheese, and olive oil from Quinta do tres Rios. Thank you very much for your great hospitality and friendship. Wishing you all the Best for the future, Andrea and Andreas
