Description
Hello, my name is Petra. I am 62 years old and I live in Germany, in North Rhine - Westphalia. I don‘t smoke and I drink no alcohol. I am a teacher and I teach young children English and Religious Education. Since I am currently on a sabbatical year, I have time to participate in Workaway.
I enjoy travelling ( I have visited many countries in Europe as well as Panama, Peru and New York/ Washington), meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I think it must be wonderful to go abroad, help people and learn new skills. I would also like to improve my English and Spanish. My English is quite good because I teach young children at school, but I still want to get better. I also started learning Spanish because I would like to go to South America next year.
I am married and my husband and I raised three daughters who are now 28, 26, and 23 years old and no longer live at home. ( My youngest daughter has also done Workaway). Because of this I have a lot of experience with children and I could be a great help with childcare. I can also teach languages ( German/English), help with housework, cooking and gardening.
I am very curious and excited about what the next months will bring. I hope that through Workaway I can gain new experiences. I am open to work in different areas and I look forward to being useful, learning from others and offering a helpful hand.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I can look after children, prepare meals and cook. At home, I mainly cook vegetarian meals, but I have no problem cooking meat dishes as well. I can clean the house and help in the garden. As I like animals, I would also look after them. I can teach languages ( German/ English). I would also like to work on a farm. I would need to be given precise instructions on what to do then. But I would like to learn and try new things.

I volunteer at a café once a week and I really enjoy it. I like going for walks and I like reading.
When I was young I played the guitar and the piano. When my children were small, I did a lot of arts and crafts with them. And I love playing Rummikub.
