  Hola,
  I'm Lingam.
  I'm passionate about natural gardening, green building, community life and self-sufficiency.
  I live in this place since 2019.

  I'm looking for help for the olive picking in Terra Gi or in some friends' place.
  If I will be away from Terra Gi for many days for the olive picking I would need one workawayer for cats&garden-sitting.

  In the past years, with my partner Sole and our son Suami, we founded a community based on conscious parenting, self-sufficiency and personal growth.
  A family with 3 children joined us for 4 years and we hosted many volunteers and friends, organized courses and activities.
  
  It is a 3.5 hectares land, 300 meters on the sea level, with a great sea view on the tirrenic coast, olive trees, fruit trees, gardens and water springs.
  Immediately we thought to share this place with other people carrying on a life project about growing together in awareness and self-sufficiency.
  We also projected to repopulate the historical center in order to create a spread community.
  
  We cleaned and reactivated 2 springs with water storage so that we can water gardens and trees.
  The flat and weakly sloped areas have been cleaned from blackberry bush and other vegetation, but there are areas that still need to be cleaned.
  In these years we have built a common kitchen with clay and straw, a composting toilet, a shower and a basic washing place for clothes.
  To make all these projects real I need support from pioneers interested in the project.
  
  I cook in a very simple way, trying to use natural and garden resources and buy as little as possible.
  I follow a vegetarian diet and prefere not to use drugs.
  I provide a very basic breakfast, if you have particular needs, buy your favourite food before arriving in the place.
  Shops are not very close from here!
  I usually follow natural rhythms, meaning that I go to sleep quite early after sunset and wake up around sunrise.
  I would like to host people in line or respectful with our values.
  
  Communication is very important to make a community work.
  The tools we use in order to grow as individuals and as a group are talking circles (in particular emotional ones) and non-violent communication.
  
  Green building, small dimensions and landscape integration are the principles for buildings.
  
  I live 5 km away from the village of Verbicaro on a secondary road 2,5 km away from the main one where you can get a ride or a bus, 20 km from Scalea and Diamante.

  I am quite experienced in wild life, natural gardening, green building with wood and cob, harvesting and cooking wild herbs, transformation and conservations of fruit and vegetables from the garden, producing herbal oil and cream, natural soap and toothpaste.
  We grew up our child with a high-contact approach that we like to share.
  I studied organic farming and I'm interested in permaculture, natural gardening and green building.

  AUGUST-SEPTEMBER 2026
  I'm looking for last minute workawayers for a cats&garden-sitting from September 4th to September 14th, preceded by minimum 3-4 days to get to know the place, the garden, the cats and the daily routine.
  ********************************************************************************************************
  
  People skilled in building with natural and up-cycled materials, permacultural landscape design, natural gardening, water facilities are welcome.
  
  Main activities are gardening and building.
  Weeding and watering the gardens will always be a simple but necessary occupation.
  Grass management is needed especially in spring and autumn.
  To prevent blackberries to grow again you could cut them and dig their surface roots.
  During cold seasons I will also make new pathways and dig drainage channels to prevent water flooding.
  
  Workawayers can help making the place more comfortable and welcoming for new volunteers.
  
  Help cooking and cleaning the kitchen and other common spaces is welcome.
  When there is a surplus of production from the garden or from the fruit trees (especially plums in july, pears in july-august and figs in august-september) we need help for transformation and conservation.

  I'm interested in sharing italian language, practice english and spanish, and I would like to learn a little portuguese and french.
• 

  Hébergement

  I have 2 caravans (3 places each) to host volunteers.
  I can host people in their own campers, caravans or tents, very adaptable to situations with few comforts.
  The tent accommodation is really basic, something like a rainbow gathering or an "into the wild" camping. There are some flat areas or some more private but slightly sloped areas where you can set your tent.
  Please bring your own sleeping bag, towel, working clothes, shoes/sandals, torch and power bank.
  If you can't travel with sleeping bag we can provide it.
  Since we don't have water depuration don't bring any soap, shampoo, toothpaste: we only use our homemade natural soap and toothpaste, and don't bring any unnecessary things, especially plastic.
  Please, be responsible for all your stuff and don't leave anything in the place, especially garbage.
  I bring drinkable water from the village (5 km).
  I have a small solar panel to charge phones, lights or powerbanks once a day.
  You really need to be a pioneer.

  The place is close to Pollino mountains Park (10 km) and to tirrenic coast (15 km).
  There is also a cold river (5-10 km) called Abate Marco.
  I have a little car, but I use it as little as possible, only for important missions, so I can't give you a ride anywhere.
  There are few buses a day during the week, but on Sundays there are no buses.
  Hitchhiking works quite well, after you walk 2 km to the main road.

  Espace pour garer des vans

  We don't have any typical campervan facility, such as electricity plug or chemical toilet dump. Campervans can be parked at the side of the secondary road. The road is quite broken, but we travel weekly with our car and it's been "tested" by many campers.

  Possibilité d'accueillir les animaux

  Respectful cats and dogs with respectful humans. Especially young dogs can be annoying if they would bark often, dig around, destroy the garden or invade human spaces. Notice that a neighbour has a dog shelter with about 30 dogs, 50 meters from the common kitchen.

  Mes animaux

  Selva's kittens (2 mois)

  One has black fur, the other is orange.
  They were born in mid July in Terra Gi, and I saw Selva moving the black kitten on July 17th, Suami's birthday.
  They came to the common kitchen in mid August when they were 1 month old and in the first days they are still afraid of humans.

  Rossella's kitten (6 mois)

  Red fur, I still don't know if it's male or female because it's more scared about humans then it's mother Rossella.

  Selva

  Grey fur, she came to Terra Gi as an adult cat during winter 2026 and was pregnant in the late spring, giving birth to 2 kittens, a black one and an orange one, in mid July.
  She probably had bad experiences with humans in her life, so she doesn't come very close to humans and I can caress her only when she's asking for food and eating. One month after giving birth she brought the 2 kittens to the common kitchen and she's becoming a bit more confident.

  Rossella

  Orange fur, she came to Terra Gi as an adult cat with a young orange kitten in May 2026.
  She probably had very bad experiences with humans in her life, so she doesn't come close to humans and I can caress her only when she's eating fresh meat.

  Saetta (5 mois)

  White and grey fur, very active, running at the speed of light (Saetta means lightning!), looking for cuddles, playing with your feet and biting them.
  Born in April 2026, she's in Terra Gi since she was 2 months old in June 2026.
