Description
This is a truly magical property of moorish, medieval, mountain terraces in La Taha, situated between the two longest and most spectacular gorges of the Southern Sierra Nevada (Alpujarra Granadina). Having developed it over 22 years it frequently needs voluntary help for its further progress and maintenance. I have been a local and international guide for many years, sharing my knowledge of these mountains and their trails with numerous visitors. I am here most days when I'll allocate some tasks for you to get done in your own time. It's a paradise for those wishing to live off-grid and away from the noises and pollution of the modern world. There's no road access, it being 10 minutes walk from the nearest village, surrounded by some of the most beautiful walking trails in Andalucia.

To learn languages, childcare, animal care (one cat and one dog). We are an anglo-bolivian family living in the alpujarras and our place is well located for fantastic walks in beautiful landscapes, many along very ancient trails.

Priority will be given to an independent couple looking for an independent space for all July who are enthusiastic about natural beauty, healthy work and being far from roads and stress, and enjoy the responsibility of looking after a unique and powerful piece of land while I am away for at least part of that month. Our dog Uma is the mainstay of such responsibilities, as well as a cat and sometimes horses.
This is the most beautiful time of year with lots of creative work mostly based around medieval water channel maintenance and gardening.
A paradise for the adventurous with a keen interest in self-sufficiency and those looking for a retreat experience surrounded by beauty and nature. However, despite being a remote, rural area there are a surprising amount of friendly, alternative and creative people nearby. There are tasks to suit all types, so normally I am open to volunteers with all skill sets.
My 13 year old son Ari needs some preparation for his exciting new start at an English school in September whereby his writing, organisational and communication skills require an upgrade, so an enthusiastic individual able to give him some fun guidance for up to two hours a day while also enjoying getting involved with the habitual tasks on this magical land would be very welcome. Basically a couple with multiple skills including physical strength would be perfect. Help with IT and computers is very welcome too. I'm looking for more long- term volunteers (a month minimum) from the end of April until the end of the year. Experienced couples are welcome to apply as well as keen individuals..

A 6m diameter Mongolian yurt will be your bedroom and the main house is yours to use and keep clean during the day. Your duty will be to improve it with love and care. Solar panel electricity. Mobile data works everywhere.
***THERE IS A SUPERIOR UPPER STUDIO CHALET AT THE TOP OF THE LAND AVAILABLE FOR A VOLUNTEER WHO IS KEEN FOR A TWO MONTH LONG PERIOD TO HELP ARI WITH ENGLISH SCHOOLING IN A FUN WAY***
3 hours/ day, Monday to Friday if you are able to deal with your own cooking. Some lunches we will share, but your food will be your own responsibility, giving you more freedom, flexibility and independence. **To be discussed. I am flexible on this agreement** Otherwise, it would be 5hours/day with food and cooking included.

This would require quite a bit of training for the first few days by me (George)... an interesting proposal for those who wish to oversee the longterm development of a project, while working together in a group and individually assuming different roles and responsibilities. At present there are other volunteers making this a sharing community, especially with meals. I'm keen to welcome an enthusiastic, mature and independent individual or couple.
