Description
Welcome to our cozy little home in Tehuacán, Puebla!
We are a mother and daughter who run a family owned language academy where we teach English and French to children, teenagers, and adults.
We live in a small, cozy home where we enjoy a simple and peaceful lifestyle centered around family and everyday moments together. We love sharing meals, watching movies, exercising, going for walks, exploring cafés, and spending quality time together. If you enjoy a calm and welcoming environment, we think you'll feel right at home with us.
Although we enjoy spending time together, we also respect each other's privacy. You will have your own private bedroom with a comfortable double bed, closet, and Wi-Fi, giving you your own personal space whenever you need it.
We don't have pets, and our home is clean, quiet, safe, and respectful.
About the experience:
We are not looking for someone to replace a teacher. Our certified teachers are responsible for planning and teaching every lesson. Instead, we are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with children and would like to support our classes as a language and cultural assistant.
Your role will be to naturally communicate with our students in English through conversations, games, storytelling, pronunciation practice, reading activities, and cultural exchange. We work with students from 3 year old children to teenagers and adults, so you'll have the opportunity to interact with different age groups.
Our goal is to expose our students to authentic English while allowing them to learn about another culture in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment. At the same time, we hope you'll have the opportunity to practice Spanish, experience everyday life in Mexico, and become part of our community.
Because you'll be interacting closely with young children, we currently prefer to host a female volunteer, as this helps our students and their families feel more comfortable.
More about Tehuacán:
Tehuacán is a peaceful, safe, walkable city in the state of Puebla. It has an efficient public transportation system and is very well connected to other cities. Within one to two hours, you can visit amazing destinations such as Puebla City, Oaxaca, Veracruz, and beautiful Pueblos Mágicos like Huamantla, Zacatlán, Chignahuapan, and Zapotitlán Salinas.
If you enjoy nature, you'll find mountains, hiking trails, cactus reserves, beautiful landscapes, local markets, cafés, and authentic Mexican culture all around the region. Tehuacán is an excellent base for exploring central Mexico.
More about us:
Our home is peaceful, family oriented, and we enjoy a healthy, balanced lifestyle. We like exercising, eating well, spending time outdoors, discovering new cafés, and enjoying simple moments together. We're looking for someone who feels comfortable in this kind of environment and would enjoy becoming part of it during their stay.
We hope to welcome someone who is friendly, patient, responsible, and enjoys working with children.
More than hosting a volunteer, we'd love to build a genuine relationship through this cultural exchange.
If you're looking for an authentic Mexican experience, we'd love to meet you!

Sharing our home, our culture, and learning from each other:
We'd love for you to join us for our daily homemade meal, grab a coffee at one of our favorite cafés, go for an evening walk, visit the local markets... We'd be happy to show you the authentic side of our city, traditional food and local shops.
Whenever we have the opportunity, we also enjoy taking short road trips to nearby places like Puebla, Orizaba, Veracruz, or some of the beautiful Pueblos Mágicos in the region. If our plans match your stay, we'd be happy for you to come along and explore with us.
At our academy, you'll also get to know our friendly team of teachers. They're young, welcoming, and always happy to chat.
We'd be happy to help you practice Spanish, introduce you to Mexican traditions and home cooking, and share our experience teaching languages. We also love traveling around Mexico, so we'd be happy to recommend places to visit, local food to try, and tips that can help you make the most of your time here. -

Your main role will be spending time with our students and helping them feel more confident speaking English in a natural way.
You won't be replacing a teacher or teaching classes on your own. Our certified teachers are always in charge of planning and leading the lessons. You'll be there to support them by chatting with students, playing games, reading stories, practicing pronunciation, and sharing a little about your own culture and daily life.
Some days you'll be talking with our younger students, while other days you might help teenagers or adults practice their conversational English.
We love hearing new ideas, so if you have a favorite game, activity, song, or tradition from your country that you'd like to share with our students, we'd be happy to include it. We're here to support you just as much as you'll be supporting our students.
Outside the academy, we'd love for you to experience everyday life with us. If you'd like, you're always welcome to join us for meals, walks, or any road trip. And if you'd rather spend your free time exploring the city, relaxing, or taking a weekend trip, that's perfectly okay too.
Your schedule:
You'll help us Tuesday through Saturday, a few hours. Your main role will be supporting our language classes, interacting naturally with students, encouraging conversation, and helping them gain confidence communicating in English.
Some Fridays may also include conversation sessions with students and helping us create content for our academy's social media. -

Spanish is the language we speak at home, so if you're learning it, you'll have lots of chances to practice naturally in everyday conversations. Since we love languages, we're always happy to chat in English, Spanish, or even a little French. -
Hébergement
During your stay, you'll have your own private bedroom with a comfortable double bed, a closet, drawers for your belongings, a small table where you can study or work, and Wi-Fi. The room is bright and well ventilated.
You'll be sharing the house with just the two of us (a mother and daughter) so it's a small, peaceful home with a quiet and respectful atmosphere. We enjoy spending time together, but we also understand the importance of privacy and personal space.
Our home has two bathrooms. One includes a shower, while the other is a half bathroom, making it easier for everyone to get ready during the day.
You're welcome to use the kitchen whenever you'd like, as well as the refrigerator and washing machine. We'll provide bed linens, blankets, pillows, and towels during your stay.
Every day, we'll share one homemade Mexican meal together. We love sharing traditional Mexican recipes and introducing our guests to authentic home cooking.
We will also provide the necessary resources for our volunteer to purchase groceries or additional meals, so all daily meals are covered during their stay.
If you'd like to prepare your own meals, you're more than welcome to use the kitchen. There are several supermarkets nearby, including Walmart and Bodega Aurrera, as well as a traditional local market where you can find fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, and many local products at affordable prices.
We will provide one homemade Mexican meal every day, which we usually share together as a family. We love cooking traditional Mexican food and hope our volunteer enjoys experiencing our local cuisine.
We will also provide the necessary resources so our volunteer can easily buy groceries or any additional meals they may want. There are supermarkets, local markets, bakeries, cafés, and affordable restaurants just a short walk from our home
Our academy is located right next to our home, so there's no daily commute. The city center is about a 15 walk away, and there are cafés, parks, shops, and public transportation nearby, making it easy to explore the city.
When you first arrive, we'll be happy to pick you up from the bus station and show you around Tehuacán so you can quickly feel comfortable and find your way around.
If you'd like, you're always welcome to join us on everyday outings, whether it's going to the local market, grabbing a coffee, shopping, or taking a walk. Whenever our schedules allow, we also enjoy taking short road trips to nearby destinations like Puebla, Orizaba, Veracruz...
We simply ask that everyone helps keep the shared spaces clean and treats each other with kindness and respect. Our home is calm, clean and organized. -
