Have you ever seen the beauty of the toundra blooming, the whiteness of a mighty blizzard or dancing aurora borealis in the sky? Come visit our northern city on Baffin Island. No road linked, so flying or sailing will be the way to meet us :) A unique cultural experience in Canada's North

At home, we speak French, but we all know English too and a few words and songs in Inuktitut. We live in a multicultural city (with 4 official languages in Nunavut : Inuktitut, English, French and Inuinaqun), with a lot of traditional activity organized by local associations. For exemple, every April is a igloo building contest and dogsleed races during the Toonik Time Festival.

We are a fun family who love to met new people from around the world, travelling, sharing dinner with friends and going camping. Our 4 kids are happy easy going children and are trill to met new workaway from all around the planet. They love swimming and camping.
We are looking for persons who will enjoy playing with kids, going outside and helping in the house (like cleaning, playing board games, cooking, etc. ).
All our kids enjoy skiing, biking , building Legos , board games and would love to learn music instrument (they did drum dancing and fiddle during summer camp) and to play outside.
We like to bake bread, cake, lasagne and to make our own dill pickles.
We also have a shy, cute little hedgehog.
During weekday, the workaway usually babysit about a half day (either morning or afternoon), then have plenty of time for discovering this friendly city, hiking into the tundra and do his personnal hobbies.
Note: with the actual Covid-19 restriction/regulation, anyone flying to Nunavut need covid immunization or to do a 2 weeks quarentine in Ottawa in a Nunavut accredited hub.

We love pasta and veggies. We appreciate when our visitor help with the preparation of some meal and it is great when he/she/they enjoy it with us. All meals are included for during your stay.
He/She can use Internet , but not excessively (it's limited, expensive and slow) and not during his time with the children. Their is NO Internet coffee shop or public Internet acces in town, so if a traveller require lot of Internet data, we suggest him/her to use a personnal cell phone with datas.
We are located close to Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park (Iqaluit River), which is reknowed for it's river and natural landscape. Fishing, camping and geocaching are all possible (one of my favorite activity is cross country skiing). We have a public swimming pool in town, library, few restaurent/coffeshop, etc. If the helper want to discover dog sleeding, skidooing or go see the floe edge from the frozen sea there is organisations such as Outfitters with really friendly staff. The helper can visit Nunavut web site for more infos.
