  Sorry ahead. It's quite hard for us to answer all the messages. We try our best, but please understand if you haven't heard from us in a while or won't get an answer. We simply get too many requests and don't have the time to answer all of your nice messages. We hope you understand.
  
  We still get many requests in periods we mark red in our calendar. Please only write us for periods we mark green in the calendar and note the period you want to join us in the subject header of your message. This will help us, sort out the messages we actually can host you.
  
  Super short, generic messages are not our favorite. Long life stories on the other hand are hard to read for us as well, as we simply get too many messages. To get a good first impression, please keep it short but lovely and tell us what makes you happy and why you are interested in joining our little crew :)

  ...and now to our story :)
  We are two friends with the dream of creating a place where outdoor-minded travelers can come together and experience island life above the Arctic Circle in northern Norway. We bought an old elderly home from the 50's beginning of 2019 and have the ambition to create Norway's coolest Hostel and for that, we need your help!
  
  Guri is 32 years old from the West Coast in Norway and Arne 38, half German/Finnish. We both travelled a lot around the world, and love creating new connections. We spend most of our times outdoors, if that is surfing, climbing, hiking, kayaking...you name it. The hostel is our dream project and all our hard earned money is going into this.
  
  ABOUT YOU
  If you are as well into climbing, surfing, skiing or any other outdoor adventure, you will fit right into our little hostel family here.
  
  To make our life a little bit easier, please write us very briefly about yourself:
  - How long would you want to join us? We enjoy having people around for 1-2m, so they become a local and bond with the island
  - What would you be excited to help us with?
  - Have you worked as volunteer before?
  - What are your expectations?
  
  If you love life, the outdoors, are enthusiastic about hostel life and getting your hands dirty, please write us. We look for positive people that are energetic, smiling and excited to whatever comes our ways.

  If you haven’t been in Lofoten yet, it’s this magical place above the arctic circle, in Northern Norway. The nature here is amazing and perfect for hiking, surfing, skiing, climbing, kayaking and much more. Further, the people are friendly and easy to get along with.
  The longer you stay, the more of a local islander you become. It's not uncommon that people get stuck and never leave the islands. :) We have a quite a lot of our former volunteers that now made Lofoten their homes and live permanently on the islands. We will definitely help you with our contacts if you plan to stay after your stay.
  
  The fun you have will depend on how you integrate to island life. The more open you are to plan your days yourself and make new friends, the more fun you will have :) There are some amazing people around us but it's up to you get out there and join our cool community of islanders :)
  
  The hostel is located in the middle of Lofoten, just next to E10, the only street that goes through whole Lofoten. There are several buses passing every day. So, within the same day, you can get so many activities in and we of course want you to get the most out of this cool experience and besides the help at our place, there will be heaps of time for you to adventure around the islands.
  
  Depending on the season, there might be a car for you to borrow, but that will be dependant on if the car is in use or not. We as well have kayaks, snowshoes, a sauna and bikes you can use.

  L’hôte a indiqué qu'il paierait au moins le salaire horaire minimum de son pays pour chaque heure travaillée et que l’hébergement serait fourni. Contactez l'hôte directement via la messagerie du site pour en savoir plus et avoir des détails sur le salaire proposé. Tous les arrangements devraient être conclus à l'avance avec votre hôte.

  Aide

  There will be a variety of tasks at our large house and property we would love your help with.
  
  As it's a big house with many people from all around the world coming and going, we really need help with making the place cosy and clean :) If you are a person that has a smile on when doing housekeeping and enjoys the feeling to make a place ready for others to enjoy it, let us know :)
  
  If you are great in making breakfast and love food in general, that's amazing as well!
  
  Our garden needs constant maintenance and if you have experience with gardening or building small things outside, that be super cool. It's an old house and things needs to be fixed all the time :) So if you are handy and maybe have some carpentry skills, that would be super helpful.
  
  If you have some videography skills, that be a cool project to get into as well.
  
  Or your are artsy and want to put some art on our walls. Let us know your thoughts :)
  
  We can offer payment, accommodation and food while you stay with us.

  You will share a dorm room with the other volunteers.
  
  The food we cook is vegetarian or pescatarian.
  You will cook your own food together with the others. We have family dinner every evening. Sometimes we join and sometimes it's just the volunteers sitting together.
  We will make sure that the food pantry is always full ;)

  Yes, We have a small co-working office space available. However it shouldn't become too stressful for you to do both your job and the help you can give us.

  We have spots for vans or small RV's with electricity access.

  Possibilité d'accueillir les animaux

  We love anaimals but can only host them, if the animals can live outside or in your car/van, due to allergic reasons of potential guests. We however have some huskies our self running around outside and if you are allergic to dogs, do let us know.
