We are located in Laemsak community, Krabi province. Surrounded by the sea, this cape has a lot to offer as it is very wild and still untouched by mass tourism. The community consists of three different cultures : Thai Buddhists, Chinese Buddhists and Muslim who live together in harmony.
Founded in 2014, our tourism community is an organisation created by the local people that aims to develop tourism in the area of Laemsak by promoting the natural beauty, traditional culture and hospitality of the region. Our goal is to generate income for the locals so that everyone can benefit from the growing tourism economy as well as preserving the local cultural heritage and the environment.
Native English speakers are desired. English teaching experience is preferred, please outline your experience in your correspondence.
Written by volunteers with first hand experience:
"Volunteers will lead one of three English classes: Elementary class, Intermediate class, and Advanced class. Teaching consists of two-hour classes five days a week and also two-hour tutorials with smaller groups arranged when possible during the week. Volunteers are expected to plan and lead classes with focus on meeting desired outcomes of the project. This is a positive project in which the community receive English teaching free of charge to enable them to interact better with foreign tourists. This project is kindly supported by the resort who provide the following on the grounds of the resort. Volunteers will receive accommodation (shared dorm room). Accommodation includes bed, fan, table and chair. Shower and toilet are shared and just outside the room. Volunteers will also receive three meals a day with one drink with meal. Volunteers will have two days off a week (Friday and Saturday)."

We have built an English teaching program that allows locals to communicate with foreign visitors and tourists.
Your role will be to teach basic English classes in the evening for two hours a day and five days a week to a group of adult students, then practice what was studied in class during the day by speaking to them in further tutorials (further 10 hours). There will be a switch over period in which the old volunteers make sure the new volunteers are up to date with the progress of the program.
