Description
*** WELCOMING NEW VEG(ETARI)AN VOLUNTEERS FROM JUNE 2ND ***
------
NOW
------
With the help of previous volunteers, we are happy to announce that the days in the tents should be over very soon since one tiny house has already been in use since the 2nd of April and that all the pieces of a second one are ready but unusual rains and thunderstorms prevented us from assembling them.
So, very soon we will have 4 bunk beds in one house and a double bed in the other one; plenty of space for people who are ready to turn a bare land into a place where the community will have the chance to socialize and educate itself.
Even if the tiny houses are a big improvement, please note that sleeping on the land can be a little challenging because of the proximity of the railway line (about 60/70 meters) and therefore the noise it generates.
Some previous volunteers got used to it; some others did not.
Please have earplugs ready.
We also invite volunteers to explore nearby provinces on weekends to enjoy the scenery and also to get better sleep in case the quality is too poor while staying on the land.
Therefore we will work from Monday afternoon (3 pm) to Friday middle morning (9.30 am) then, after [early] lunch, you will be able to enjoy long weekends to recharge your batteries and also enjoy what Kanchanaburi, Hua Hin and of course Bangkok (easily and cheaply accessible by the local trains) can offer in terms of visits and entertainment.
Please note, that we also rest on weekends so everyone will be responsible for oneself.
Talking about working hours, because it will be mainly outdoor construction, the best times to work are and will be:
- 7.15 to 9.30 am in the morning.
- 3.00 to 5.45 pm in the afternoon.
Digital nomads can enjoy these long midday pauses in air-coned nearby coffees if they feel too hot on the land.
We heavily insist on the fact we are looking for veg(etari)an volunteers since only they can understand the bigger picture of what is being created here and are potentially more tolerant with pioneering living conditions even if we want to insist that every work will have an impact on the quality of stay; it will instantly be rewarding.
Please be aware that mosquitoes are hunting from 6.15 pm to 7 pm so you will have to stay indoors at that time.
Later on, it is really nice to stay outside but please be also aware that stray dogs living near the railway crossing (about 600 meters away) prevented previous volunteers from going to the closest 7 Eleven at night; so make sure you get everything you need from there during the midday break or be ready to go a little further in another 7 Eleven located 1,7 km away.
If you are genuinely interested in the project, please feel free to ask any questions in private messages.
Thanks!
________
From June/July
________
We are also looking for Native-English speakers or non-native certified TESOL/TEFL teachers who would be ready to take care of English language workshop once a dedicated place is ready.
Please contact us if you are interested in this position. (For the safety of the children, we will only accept volunteers who, upon their arrival, will provide photocopies of their passport and of their visa. Thanks for your understanding.)
Vegan cook(s) will be more than welcome (they will actually be needed) to prepare lunches and dinners while other people (including the project managers) are busy with construction (and other duties).
***
Sawadee Khrap everyone,
We are an official foundation registered in Thailand.
Here is the translation in English of our goals:
· To promote and publish knowledge that popularises eating vegan.
· To encourage vegan consumers to know and understand the benefits of eating vegan and the process of picking, producing or obtaining vegan foods.
· To promote the cultivation of organic homegrown vegetables, fruits and grains at the household and community level, to promote joint local activities and support the co-learning process amongst local communities, to also raise awareness of the negative effects on the environment of closed system chemical use in the cultivation of crops and livestock.
· To promote the understanding and consumption of vegetarian and vegan diets by presenting information backed by scientific and medical studies, through a variety of different media.
· To support and assist the coordination of clubs, associations, organisations, groups of individuals and various group activities involved in publicizing the consumption of vegetarian and vegan foods, as well as to support campaigns that highlight the importance of a vegan lifestyle, for improved and efficient cooperation that is more vigorous and broader.
· To promote the non-consumption and non-use of animal products.
· To cooperate with or manage charitable organisations and public organisations for the benefit of the public.
· To not become involved in the political or religious sphere.

We found out that it was very difficult to work online so we decided to create a "hub" around a vegan café and bistrot where we can ONLY welcome SERIOUS volunteers ready to dedicate time and efforts to the cause.
So, to make this happen our coming project is building that place with recycled material and reclaimed wood.
Two tiny houses are almost ready to welcome the volunteers and also offer the opportunity to curious people to experience that minimalistic kind of accommodation.

Foundation's policy regarding video calls: WorkAway is a platform based on trust with a safe messaging interface to get in touch and organize visits.
We do not ask for more, so please do not request any video calls or any other kind of social interactions since we are busy with taking care of all the things going on at the moment such as the planning and construction of the hub, not to mention all the paperwork a legal entity generates.
Let's be as efficient as possible with the organization of your visit.

This experience will allow you to meet people coming from different backgrounds and share experiences and visions of life.
Working with the foundation will also enable you to have more authentic contacts with people in the country.Aide
Once the hub is ready (hopefully at the beginning of the dry season (November 2025), we have many ambitious projects that will require time and minds such as:
*️️️️️️️️️️ organizing events promoting the vegan diet and lifestyle;
*️️️️️️️️️️ establishing MOU with local institutions;
*️️️️️️️️️️ creating links with similar and related organizations abroad;
*️️️️️️️️️️ trying to establish the "Meatless Mondays" in all international schools of the country (166 in 2016 according to the Office of the Private Education Commission) thanks to informative and educational presentations; starting with kindergartens;
*️️️️️️️️️️ raising funds in order to finance all those activities; one of the ways to achieve will be linked with the promotion of a metal band that signed a donation stipulating that they give away all their copyrights money to the foundation.
For these we will be looking for volunteers:
*️️️️️️️️️️ with a very good sense of organization;
*️️️️️️️️️️ with good computer skills;
*️️️️️️️️️️ who can take initiatives within the goals set by the board;
*️️️️️️️️️️ who can work as a team and in autonomy (it sounds obvious but in reality it's not always the case);
*️️️️️️️️️️ who are serious and committed.
That's for the basic skills.
But for now we have the building projects that require those specific skills:
* Construction / DIY;
* gardening;
* vegan team cooking.
If you have at least one of those, your work with us will make a big difference!
We are offering 3 vegan meals a day.
Please note that it is mainly local/Asian food (dishes accompanying rice) so if you expect European-style food (especially for breakfast; we offer right now tea, coffee and organic bananas) you might be disappointed; then you should not know apply for the position before the vegan bistrot with more elaborate dishes will be able to provide the meals for the long-term (1 month) volunteers.
# March 2025 update regarding food #
Everyday, we will serve one natural protein sources in the form beans, lentils, chick peas, tofu and once a week wheat pastas (it might sound surprising but wheat is also full of proteins), if you feel that is it not enough, please let us know and we will provide you processed products from the Thai "Youta (veggie" company.Langues parlées

Our previous accommodation located in Bangkok has been a great source of misunderstanding and waste of time in the past, so we decided to take another direction way.
The foundation has signed a 3 year lease for a 8,000 sqm plot of land in the Nakhon Chai Si (นครชัยศรี) area
where we are currently developing the hub to pilot and conduct our projects.
Right now we have a sanitary block with toilets and bathrooms and 2 tiny houses.
There is still a lot of little things to do to make the place welcoming; right now the feeling might be more "building place" and "quagmire" [on raining days] but things can change very quickly if we have en enthusiast and dynamic team ready to make it beautiful.Autres infos...
Of course, this position is only open to veg(etari)an people who have strong knowledge about animal rights and the impact of industrial agriculture on the planet.
We precise this because we already got applications in the past from carnists who seemed to be mainly interested in the great location of the accommodation. (Hopefully, the more countryside one will discourage those).
So when you contact us, to make sure you have read the profile, please let us know in your message the number of years you've been living without meat consumption and what was/were the reason/s behind this choice, so we will be sure you have read it until the end.
Thanks for your kind understanding.
We are a legal entity working for the good of general population so all members and volunteers need to have an "irreproachable" attitude, which means: NO CIGARETTE, NO ALCOHOL and of course NO DRUGS allowed in the area. You can "party" during your days off in the capital or somewhere else but not at the café nor in the neighbourhood.
We are also only looking for physically and mentally healthy volunteers since our place is not aimed to be a therapeutic one for people who need to help themselves at the first place. So please do not apply if you are under medication other than iron and/or vitamin B12 supplements and/or if your are followed by a therapist.
And of course, you should not have a criminal record.
When the place will be opened to the public and that we will organize activities with children, our local government partner (องค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลงิ้วราย : Ngiu Rai Subdistrict Administrative Organization) asks a copy of a "clean criminal record extract".
Thanks again for your kind understanding.Informations complémentaires
