Description
We are a small family-run mountain farm near Pai, Northern Thailand, focused on gardening, simple living, and working with nature.
Set in a quiet natural environment about 7 km from Pai town, this is a peaceful place for people who enjoy outdoor work, fresh air, and a slower pace of life.
Our space includes simple bamboo structures and occasional natural-building projects, alongside our main focus on gardening and farm work.

🤝 Volunteer Exchange
We host a small number of Workawayers when projects and timing align.
For accepted Workawayers:
* Free shared accommodation in a clean, natural setting
* Breakfast provided daily
* Shower, WiFi, and common areas
* No fees charged at any time
Lunch and dinner are not provided. Workawayers can use our shared cooking facilities to prepare their own food.
Typical activities may include:
* Gardening, planting, and plant care
* Watering and maintaining the garden
* Simple bamboo construction or repairs
* General outdoor maintenance
* Seasonal farm activities such as composting or harvesting
We ask for a maximum of 20 hours of help per week, normally around 4 hours per day, 5 days per week.
We normally host only 2–3 Workawayers at a time, keeping the atmosphere relaxed, personal, and peaceful.

Life here follows the natural rhythm of the land and seasons. Projects vary depending on the weather and what needs attention on the farm.
Workawayers may have the opportunity to learn about small-scale gardening, bamboo work, composting, natural building, and other practical aspects of living close to nature.

🛵 Free Time & Exploring
With approximately four hours of help on working days, Workawayers have plenty of free time to relax or explore the Pai area.
Nearby attractions include hot springs, waterfalls, mountain viewpoints, Pai Canyon, and small villages. Scooters are the most common way to get around the area and are useful for exploring independently.

Through participating in daily farm activities, volunteers can learn about organic growing, composting, and simple sustainable living practices. There are also opportunities for cultural exchange through shared experiences, conversations, and learning from different backgrounds.
Many people enjoy the balance of contributing in the mornings and having free time in the afternoons to relax, explore, or spend time in nature.
This experience is especially rewarding for those who value simplicity, independence, and a slower way of living. -
Aide
Help & Participation
We welcome Workawayers who enjoy hands-on farm life on our small bamboo mountain farm.
We ask for a maximum of 20 hours of help per week, normally around 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. Help is usually in the mornings, leaving afternoons and evenings free to relax or explore the Pai area.
We have ongoing farm and outdoor projects throughout the year, and activities vary depending on the season and what currently needs attention on the land.
Typical activities include:
* Soil building, composting, transplanting, and caring for vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees
* Watering, weeding, and maintaining garden beds
* Helping with bamboo, including harvesting, treating, and simple construction
* Light outdoor maintenance and small sustainable-building projects
Workawayer activities are focused on farm, garden, and land-based projects. Workawayers are not involved in guest accommodation or hospitality work.
While helping together, you may learn about small-scale organic gardening, permaculture principles, bamboo tasks, and aspects of rural life in Northern Thailand. We enjoy sharing what we know and also learning from the skills and experiences Workawayers bring, making this a genuine cultural exchange.
No previous experience is necessary. A positive attitude, respect for nature, and willingness to contribute are the most important qualities.
We usually host only 2–3 Workawayers at a time, which helps keep the experience relaxed, personal, and connected to the land. -

Accommodation & What We Provide
Stay in clean, shared bamboo accommodation surrounded by nature.
In exchange for your help, we provide:
* Shared volunteer accommodation in a peaceful natural setting
* Daily breakfast
* Access to bathroom facilities, WiFi, and common areas
Lunch and dinner are not provided. There are three local Thai restaurants within about a 5–10 minute walk where Workawayers can buy inexpensive meals.
After the help period each day, you’ll have plenty of free time to rest, read, enjoy the property, or explore the surrounding countryside and Pai area.

What Else…
Our farm is located in a quiet, natural area in the mountains near Pai, so it’s best suited to people who enjoy peaceful surroundings and a slower pace of life.
Scooters are the most common way to get around, and many volunteers choose to rent one to explore the area. Nearby, you’ll find waterfalls, hot springs, mountain viewpoints, and small villages to visit during your free time.
This is not a party environment — it’s a place for relaxing, connecting with nature, and enjoying simple living.
Being comfortable in a tropical outdoor setting is important, as you may encounter insects, weather changes, and basic rural conditions. -

My time in pai at Sasha's place was brilliant, I was recommended here by a friend who had also been and really enjoyed his time there.
