Help our little bilingual family to set up our new home amongst olive groves in Ronda, Spain

  Description

  We live in the beautiful mountain city of Ronda, Andalucia, surrounded by olive groves and yet within walking distance of a lovely traditional Spanish town with beautiful historic buildings, breathtaking mountain views, river gorges...and of course lots of wonderful little tapas bars! We are a small, three-generation family of grandmother, mother and 9 yr old boy (plus dog and chickens!) and are looking for someone to help us in our ´finquita´... just generally helping with ´man of the house´ sort of stuff!
  
  We are surrounded by countryside, but only a short walk to a traditional plaza with lots of cafes and people watching! Ronda is a beautiful small city just to wander around - beautiful sights, and a lovely buzzy atmosphere. There are wonderful walks right from our doorstep - one way into town, and the other way into the mountains.
There is a train station and bus station in Ronda with connections to the coast (Malaga) and also Jerez, Seville etc.
  
  Would be ideal for a more mature person, comfortable with their own company, and happy to do their own thing...but with family life to dip into! ! Ronda is a very small city and not for someone who wants nightlife. Evening entertainment is family games of Rummy etc! ;)

  We hope this could be a great opportunity to experience family life ( and feel very useful and appreciated!) in the beautiful mountain town of Ronda. We also travel regularly to the coastal area of Cadiz, so could be an opportunity to discover the wonderful beaches there.

  Aide

  We would love someone to help us in our new home ...there is about an acre of land that needs some attention, cutting branches, clearing land, fixing fencing, helping grow vegetables, putting up shelves, fixing broken things etc etc....and just generally being ´the man of the house´! Maybe even helping my 9 yr old make an underground ´den´!
  
  Would be suitable for a more mature person / couple ( or parent and one child during summer holidays) who are happy with their own company, but keen to dip into family life now and again! A general positive, can-do attitude towards fixing up an old house would be essential! Barbecue skills a bonus! ;) 

  
  You would need to be happy to help independently - but our 9 year old boy would love to help you too! No two days would be the same, so flexibility with timings would be important, though you would have plenty of free time to explore the local area ( and we would love to show you round) or for online work etc.
  
  We would need about 4 to 5 hours help a day, and we can discuss the timetable that would best suit.

  We are a multi-lingual family - we are half English, half Italian, and we also speak fluent Spanish and French. Happy to help with any of these languages (and child is at school here in Spain so he is a very good Spanish ´teacher´!). Ronda is a very friendly town, and newcomers have no problems fitting in.

  Hébergement

  We would ideally love to welcome someone with their own campervan / motorhome, but a spacious private room can be provided, with a shower room just opposite ( in theory it could be shared, but in practice there isn´t anyone else to use it, so it´s essentially a private bathroom!)

  
We would provide you with food for breakfast so that you can have this in your own time (weekdays are usually a bit rushed, going to school etc) but the weekends we usually have a more relaxed brunch. 
Meals a bit flexible, but generally we would all have one meal a day together, and the other would be more of a movable feast :) We can talk about it and do whatever suits everyone!
  We like to have fairly healthy food - not a huge amount of meat, not vegan or excessively healthy either - just somewhere in the middle! Would be great if you enjoyed barbecuing as that is something we would love to do more of!

  We are about a twenty-minute walk from town , and there is a bus stop about ten minutes away. Fascinating old buildings, beautiful views, lots of cafes, restaurants and of course all the necessary facilities, ie supermarkets, banks, cinema, hospital etc. Walks up into the mountains from the doorstep.
  Not suitable for young people looking for nightlife!
  We travel regularly to the coastal area of Cadiz, so lots of opportunities to discover the endless, unspoilt sandy beaches of that region.
  I´m afraid we cannot welcome smokers.

  We have good internet access so ideal for anyone working online, and we can discuss routines that fit around existing commitments etc.

  There is about an acre of land, so plenty of space for you to park. We previously owned a motorhome and would love to welcome someone with their own little home on wheels :)

  Admittedly no pets would be simpler! We have elderly cats, chickens and a very playful male schnauzer ( who gets on wonderfully with people but sometime takes a little getting used to other dogs!) However that doesn´t need to be a stumbling block - we can talk!
