Description
This is a small community-based project, non-profit organization, focusing on turtle conservation in Pulau Kapas. This group, of very enthusiastic volunteers from different backgrounds, was formed in 2021 and we have taken this mission on as an act of personal, social and ecological responsibility to carry out a program to assist the survival of this endangered species.

This volunteering will expose you to people with different cultural backgrounds.
You will have the chance to work in a real-world environment and boost your confidence by having a much clearer idea of your own strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes.
This is a great opportunity to get involved with a small but growing organisation. This means that your work has a real impact on the success of the project and you will be able to gain knowledge and experience that could perhaps form the basis of a career in conservation.Aide
• Assist with daily tasks such as cleaning and maintenance of common areas.
• Take part in daily / nightly beach patrols.
• Monitoring and excavation of nests, turtle track surveys, relocation of eggs, hatchling releases, etc.
• Conduct hatchery studies.
• Maintain detailed records and log books.
• Helping promote awareness through different media tools.

ACCOMMODATION
The project provides a mixed dorm that can accommodate up to 4 people. The base is equipped with toilet and shower, and a kitchen/lounge area.
Basic bedding is provided, a simple mattress, lower bedsheet, blanket, a pillow and pillowcase.
Volunteers can bring sleeping bag, hammock, storage box, etc. if they like.
Bath towels, personal toiletries, etc. are NOT provided.
A semi automatic washing machine is available for laundry.

MEALS
Food (Halal) is provided for 3 meals a day, groceries and staple foods are stocked weekly, but not snacks (such as cookies, chocolate, soft drinks, nescafe, etc.).
The kitchen is a communal area, volunteers will collectively help to prepare, cook and clean among the team.
There are restaurants on the island, do not forget to bring some cash along to enjoy the island food in your time off.
FACILITIES
Electricity is available 24/7.
Drinking water is supplied from a refillable filtered tank.
There are different communal opened spaces around the property.
There is not WIFI available, mobile reception is usually stable.
Volunteers are required to maintain the areas and treat it and each other with respect and consideration. Any volunteer we feel disrespecting our program may be asked to leave without notice.Autres infos...
During your time off the island offers outdoor activities such as volleyball, jungle trekking, snorkelling, etc.
For stays shorter than 1 month, we might be able to accommodate workawayers, if they cover their food expenses, so we provide the accommodation and facilities.Informations complémentaires
