  Description

  We are a young family that is bringing an old farm with a lot of animals back to life. Our goal is to live in harmony with nature and to become largely self-sufficient. To achieve this, we have to maintain the farm buildings, recultivate the farm garden, farm the pastures with horse-power and, of course, take care of our animals on a daily basis. But after work it is also very important to ENJOY the beautiful landscape and farmlife!
  
  The first lambs and Easter bunnies fall in February, the new gardening and grazing season begins in March, the haying and harvesting season starts at the end of May, paddock and pasture checks are part of the daily tasks in summer, and in autumn fruits are picked, processed into juice and preserved... We are happy to have helping hands with all of that!
  
  Our farm is a hobby project to provide self-produced sustainable food for us and the Workawayers. We also like to keep old farm traditions alive.
  
  Lars is working as a civil engineer and Saskia offers Riding- & Nature-Education Programmes to schools and kindergardens. Our kids are 9, 7 and 1 years old.
  
  The farm is situated between the towns of Leipzig, Dresden and Chemnitz.

  Wir sind eine junge Familie, die seit fast sieben Jahren einen alten Bauernhof wieder zum Leben erweckt. Unser Ziel ist es, im Einklang mit der Natur zu leben und sich weitgehend selbst zu versorgen. Dazu müssen die Hofgebäude fertig hergerichtet und instand gehalten werden, der Bauerngarten rekultiviert werden und unsere Tiere bedürfen natürlich auch täglicher Pflege. Doch ganz wichtig ist es auch, nach getaner Arbeit abends an der Feuerschale den Tag entspannt ausklingen zu lassen!
  
  Ab Februar fallen die ersten Lämmer und Osterhäschen, mit dem März beginnt die neue Garten- und Weidesaison, Ende Mai geht es in die Heu- und Erntezeit, im Sommer gehören Koppel- und Weidekontrolle zu den alltäglichen Aufgaben, im Herbst wird Obst gepflückt, zu Saft verarbeitet und eingemacht... da freuen wir uns über helfende Hände!
  
  Unser Hof ist ein Hobbyprojekt, um uns und die Workawayer mit selbst produzierten, nachhaltigen Lebensmitteln zu versorgen. Außerdem möchten wir alte Bauernhoftraditionen, zum Beispiel die Farmarbeit mit Pferden, aufrechterhalten.
  
  Lars arbeitet als Stahlbauingenieur und Saskia bietet Reit- & Naturpädagogik-Programme für Schulen und Kindergärten an. Unsere Kinder sind 1, 7 und 9 Jahre alt.

  Aide

  We are looking for somebody helping us with all tasks occuring on the farm and in daily life, mainly feeding and caring for the animals.
  
  As our farm is a hobby project, there is a wide range of possible tasks in which you can support us, depending on your interests. Maybe you love growing vegetables in the kitchengarden, like to train and ride horses or maybe you have a talent for handcrafts to help us with the conversion of stables and guest rooms. With us, you can experience and try out the gentle conversion of historical buildings, the use of different lime and clay plasters, as well as various methods of renovating old buildings!

  Wir suchen motivierte Menschen, die uns in allen Bereichen des Bauernhofs sowie im Alltag unterstützen, vor allem bei der Versorgung der Tiere.
  
  Da es sich bei unserem Hof um ein Hobbyprojekt handelt, gibt es eine breite Palette an möglichen Aufgaben, bei denen du uns je nach deinen Interessen unterstützen kannst. Vielleicht liebst du es Gemüse anzubauen, mit Pferden zu arbeiten und sie zu bewegen oder du hast handwerkliches Talent, um uns beim Ausbau von Ställen und Gästezimmern zu helfen. Bei uns kann man den sanften Umbau historischer Bausubstanz, den Einsatz verschiedener Kalk- und Lehmputze, sowie diverse Altbausanierungsverfahren miterleben und ausprobieren!
  
  Nach Absprache könnte ein Praktikum in Saskias Tätigkeitsbereich "Reit- und Naturpädagogik auf Bellmanns Hof" absolviert werden.
