Description
My husband and I have a coffee farm in Nicaragua. We live in Muy Muy, a rural village in between Boaco and Matagalpa. We offer holiday homes. Beautiful nature for walking, horseback riding, cooking local dishes, visiting locals, hiking, painting and enjoying the peace. In the province there are a few old, colonial buildings with museums (including a coffee museum), coffee and cocoa companies, chocolate production companies, etc. In nature you will find waterfalls and mountains. Locally you can visit small farmers to see how they grow corn and beans, coffee, cocoa and fruits. There are also opportunities to learn how to cook the local dishes. On our farm, 4 workers are busy permanently with the livestock and the coffee, cocoa and vanilla crops. Often more workers are temporarily employed.

We live here in the middle of the local Nicaraguans. You can visit them and learn how they live, cook and what customs they have. Furthermore, nature is overwhelming. You can explore a lot on foot or by horse. Of course you can also visit tourist spots in the country by bus. There are many. You will learn a lot about the local farming methods here. You can discuss with us and think about how agriculture in developing countries can be improved and how to help poor farmers. So also about development work in general. Is it useful to come and work here as a foreigner or should we not get involved? You can also talk about that with the people here. It is also very interesting to think together about practical problems in this area with regard to water supply, toilets, accessibility, roads, transport, etc. Why are we talking about underdevelopment here? We can put you in touch with other projects and foreigners, but especially also with the local farmers and village people, craftsmen and also with children. You can visit schools. We look forward to seeing everything through your eyes and together looking for solutions to problems and above all: philosophizing together about this country and its customs and inhabitants. We would love it if you eat with us (or if you prefer to cook and eat for yourself, that's fine too, as there is a guest kitchen) and work with us on the farm. We would like to see you as a dear guest, who may have its own program, but with whom we consult daily, eat, play games and maybe even go out to tourist spots. Everyone has different wishes and we respect them. We hope you bring fun here, because the farm is a bit remote.

Hikes have to be maintained for tourists. If you like, you can also help with the coffee harvest, gardening, etc. depending on the season. Technicians can deal with water supply, showers, wifi etc. There is always somthing broken down. There is general maintenance to be done, like painting. Some construction has to be done. We need help in the garden and help with social media. We are also looking for people who can make an inventory of the trees, animals, butterflies in the area (with the help of locals of course). And last, if you speak Spanish well, I would love it when you help me to improve it.
Right now we are also looking for people to take care after our house for a longer periode during the months March, July and August.Langues

We have three holiday cottages. Each with 2 rooms and a bathroom. There is also a treehut. No wifi in the cabins, but at the reception. There is a separate guest kitchen that can be used. The cottages have beds, sheets, towels, tables, chairs and a hammock. They are in the woods. We live two hundred meters away from it in a bigger house. You will stay in one of the cabins, private room, you will have lunch with us and prepare your other meals in the guest kitchen.
Nicaraguans have their own diet and eating habits. If you like it you can get to know and try a lot of local dishes. We also know local people who want to teach you how to cook if you like.Autres infos...
There is a bus, going to the village and busstation, twice a day. There is a local shop nearby.
