Description
Hey I'm Sam, a 24 year old male from the north of England.
I recently worked away at an eco-construction project in Mexico. Here I enjoyed learning about earth construction, as we built a house and living quarters with adobe: sand and dirt.
In 2017 I spent some time in Tanzania, hiking and supporting a project to improve the supply of victuals to a primary school near the base of Mt Kilimanjaro. My experience of having a meaningful project as a focal point of an expedition was extremely positive and for me is a big reason for joining workaway.
Both projects were enjoyable for me, but the community aspect of my work in Tanzania was particularly rewarding, and as I reminisce over this experience I realise it is something I wish to chase more of.
I love being outdoors, and my main sports are rock climbing, hiking and running.
I'm also a very introspective person, who enjoys reading, pondering, and reflecting on interactions I have with new people. I hope through travelling I will have time to do lots of these things, and to meet many new people I hope to call friends.

I have plans travel around central America with my partner Bella, and we have big aspirations to become conversational in Spanish! We have plans to attend Spanish school in Guatemala and are very excited about it.

I have worked in kitchens in England for many years and cooking nutritious food is something I both enjoy and feel passionate about.
I am a capable hands on person, with experience helping out with construction and gardening tasks ranging from mixing concrete to polytunnel construction to digging trenches and repotting house plants :)

Surfing is a sport that has been on my radar for some time now. I've only had chance to get out on one occasion but I'm very keen to try more!
