We have the incredible opportunity to preserve and care for a beautiful piece of land in the protected area "Quebrada de los Cuervos y Sierras del Yerbal". Our mission includes restoring an old stone house, build a new wooding cabing, planting a vegetable garden, building a greenhouse, fencing to protect specific areas, and controlling invasive plant species.
When we're not working, we embrace the beauty of this place together enjoying nature, playing football, swimming in a stunning pond, singing, playing instruments, chatting with foxes, picking mushrooms, birdwatching, and cooking delicious meals over a fire.
If you're proactive, passionate about nature, and eager to learn or share your skills, we'd love to have you join us. Together, we can protect the environment and make a difference while creating unforgettable memories!

With Us you will learn about Uruguayan music, tango and folclore, costumes and food. You will also be able to learn how to use our natural resources to eat, stay worm, and build. Also you will be able to learn to recognize mushrooms, and birds.

We need help in gardening and building (experience people needed , carpenters, builders, plomers), renewable sources of energy, taking care of the veggies garden (farmers needed) and (soon) helping with tours and tourists, reception, website and social network (Spanish needed) photography, also any type of artist!

Hébergement
Accommodation: Volunteers will camp in a sheltered area and have access to the composting toilet in the house under construction. They can use the kitchen facilities, equipped with necessary utensils, and cook over a fire or gas stove. There is a water source near the house, but there is no electricity at the moment.

Pase tres semanas de sueño en la Paloma, me senti como en casa. Las horas de trabajo se hacian amenas cuando uno esta a diez minutos de la playa para pasar la tarde o la mañana. Thanks to Hostel for everything. I enjoyed my experience here, the guests and volunteers were lovely people. The hostel itself is a great space with lots of places to chill out or party! Melani had an accident as soon as she got here, and couldn´t do the jobs we had plan for her, but she did help us with some things on the computer, help cleaning a little bit and cooking. Pedro vino unos 5 días y nos hizo un video promocional de hostel muy bueno. Un trabajo muy profesional, lo pueden ver en el face del Hostel. Pero además, siempre mantuvo la buena onda, y colaboro en tares que no tenía necesidad! UN fenómeno, 100% recomendable.

Tom is a great worker, one of the best workaways we had, he knows about contruction, and he gives his bests. He help us a lot, also worked more than we asked, and hellped a lot building a hostel enviroment, allways singing (he is a profecional singer) and willing to do activitties (he orginized dinners, volleyball games and more)

Amazing workaway! Nacho and Beba are wonderful!! They were so kind and welcoming and made me feel at home right away. Great senses of humour and so much fun. They feel like family now and I'm going to miss them and beautiful La Paloma. I've been here two weeks and wish I could stay longer. I would recommend this workaway 110%!

Bernardo estuvo muy pocos días aca pero siempre ayudo en todo lo que se le pidió, corto el pasto, ayudo con carpintería, limpió el jardín y algunas otras cosas, suficiente para 4 días! Además siempre muy buena onda, queriendo conocer la cultura y las personas con las que se cruza. Abrazo grande y la mejor onda para tu viaje!

Nacho and Beba are incredible, I really enjoyed my time there. We were working during the morning and then surfing and playing volleyball in the evening.

Beautiful place, beautiful people, amazing meals, and rewarding but tough work at times! I didn't stay long but they were understanding of my change of plans. Farm life isn't for me but it still was a great experience! Easy going people and atmosphere! Thank you!
