Description
Hi, I’m Tario!
Join our small international project in the Region of Murcia, where we are slowly creating a sustainable and self‑sufficient eco‑village. We focus on restoring traditional rural buildings, reusing materials, and developing spaces for a small self‑sufficient farm.
We are working on two different properties, around 20 minutes by car from each other:
1. An inland countryside finca near El Estrecho de Fuente Álamo (Murcia)
2. A beach‑front property in Cartagena
— two renovation projects (inland finca + coastal Cartagena cabins)
At the moment we are renovating the main countryside finca. August brings very hot weather inland, so this summer we are also focusing on the beach‑front house in Cartagena as a cooler alternative workspace.
Work on the countryside finca (Murcia):
The land is quite dry right now, so gardening is not our priority for the moment. Most tasks will be indoor construction and renovation. We are also setting up a small farm area planned for donkeys, possibly goats, and chickens in the future to build a little farm community.
The finca has old Spanish houses we are transforming into accommodation for Workawayers. Some rooms are already finished, and we need help to keep expanding the project: new communal spaces, a shared kitchen, outdoor facilities, caravan parking and more. There is still plenty to build and improve!
Work on the beach‑front property (Cartagena):
This is our main summer project, as it stays much cooler here in August. We will need renovation and building help on this coastal home over the coming weeks. I will upload photos of both locations soon.
Since both projects are still at an early stage, you will enjoy a high level of autonomy.
On the countryside finca we can provide accommodation (private and shared rooms available), a communal kitchen, and private bathrooms. We also have a laundry area, and we are building an outdoor shower zone for future campers.
We are not strict with schedules and offer flexible working hours and days — just communicate your needs clearly with us.
The Murcia finca is near El Estrecho de Fuente Álamo, with direct highway access. Cartagena, Murcia city and the Mediterranean coast are all easy to reach. One of our local volunteers has a car for occasional trips into town, but we highly recommend you bring your own vehicle for comfortable, independent travel between the two sites and local amenities.
Pets are welcome. Some volunteers have brought their own animals, and we currently have small dogs and a few cats living on the land. -

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Ramon (another volunteer) and I are managing our two projects at present. I will be leaving in September for work commitments, at which point more Spanish‑ and English‑speaking volunteers will join the team to keep things running.
During your stay you will benefit from a bilingual Spanish‑English environment, flexible independent working hours, a peaceful space suitable for remote work (we have WiFi), and the opportunity to build our international community together. -
Aide
At this early stage of the project, our main focus is on developing and improving the shared infrastructure of the finca. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy practical, hands-on work and can contribute ideas as the space evolves.
Current projects include gardening and starting the vegetable garden, construction and improvement of common areas (including the communal kitchen), fencing parts of the property, and setting up creative workshop spaces for furniture refurbishment, all of which involve recycling and reusing materials.
Right now, the priority is creating functional and welcoming common spaces and making the best use of the existing facilities. If you enjoy building, organizing, fixing, or creatively improving spaces, you will likely feel very at home here.
*IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER*: Workawayers will NOT be asked to help with any business-related activities, with paying guests or visitors, or in spaces used by them. All activities are purely related to cultural exchange and personal projects within our private property. -

Autres infos...
Please note that the finca is located in a rural area and public transport access is limited. Connections to nearby cities do exist, but they are not very frequent or convenient, so having your own car is highly recommended. We have plenty of parking space on the property.
If you do not have your own vehicle, we do have someone on the finca who can drive and tries to help out with lifts to town or practical needs. To drive their car, you would need a valid driving license and the appropriate documentation to drive legally in Spain (especially if you are from abroad). This can always be discussed in advance. -

Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads
Digital nomads welcomed! We have wifi in the property and can offer you flexible working hours.

Espace pour garer des vans
We welcome campers, vans, and motorhomes. We are currently making some spaces available and we can provide water, but electricity is limited at the moment (we are saving to install solar panels, hopefuly in the summer. Help with this very welcomed!)

Possibilité d'accueillir les animaux
Pets are very welcome, as long as they are friendly and well-socialized, since there may be pets belonging to other volunteers. In the future, we are considering adding farm animals (such as chickens, and possibly even donkeys), so we appreciate animal lovers who want to help prepare the facilities and spaces for these animals.
