Description
Our non profit organisation Tannourine Cedar society (Tannour w Nour) was established in 2014 to protect one of the largest cedar forest in Lebanon. The organisation is fully supportive for the engagement of the local community in the process of conservation and to raise awareness about environmental issues through education programs for the local community and the reserve's visitors.

The volonteers will have the chance to benefit from the outdoors activities provided in the reserve, learn how to identify the local wildplants and animals, know about the local cuisine, exchange with rural communities, have an overview on the different agricultural practices while practicing the Arabic lebanese language.
Aide
The volonteer will have the opportunity to participate in our environmental activities on:
1- Monitoring biodiversity ( fauna and flora)
2- trails maintenance in the reserve and the surrounded trails ( brochures designing, signages, mapping, blazing and trails cleaning)
3- planning and implementing for outdoor educational activities for the reserve's visitors.
4- working on the Native Tree Nursery (seeds collection, seeds treatments, sowing and other general maintenance for the greenhouse)
5- participation in the cleaning and awareness campains ( cartridges campains, trails adoptions and other cleaning campains that will be organized for the community engagements).
6- marketing for our educational and ecotourism activities on our social media platforms.Langues

You will be living in a private room and a shared bathroom in the the reserve's house where there is availability for cooking and we provide food for our volonteer.

You can hike through the LMT trail (section 9 and 10 in Tannourine) as part of the long trail going from the North to the South of Lebanon through the mountains (470 km) and the hermitages trail crossing the cedar reserve and passing through the walnuts river of Ayn el Raha valley towards Tannourine Tahta village and Hardine. You will also have the chance to visit the sinkhole of Baatata gorge waterfall in Balaa and Radish valley on your days off. We don't have public transportation but we can pick up you from the surrounded village of hadath el Jobbeh.
