Description
🌿 Volunteer Opportunity on a Healing Homestead (First Nations Land – Ontario, Canada)
We welcome respectful, community-minded individuals to spend time on our peaceful ranch located on a First Nations reservation in Ontario, Canada. This land holds deep Indigenous history, and we aim to maintain a space that honours the land, culture, and the people who live here.
Our homestead is simple, off-grid, and grounded in daily cooperation. Volunteers who stay here become part of the rhythm of family and land-based living.
⸻
🌱 Current Focus: Spring Cleanup & Family Support
At this time we are primarily seeking volunteers who are comfortable supporting a young family. The most important help needed will be with two children (ages 2 and 5) as well as general household support.
Applicants must be comfortable with both children and animals.
Daily help may include:
• Assisting with childcare and playing with the children
• Preparing simple meals
• Cleaning and maintaining shared living spaces
• Helping with general domestic tasks
• Supporting spring cleanup and seasonal outdoor work
There may also be opportunities to assist with:
• Horses and other animals
• Gardening or landscaping
• Small building or land projects
However, the primary focus will be childcare and help within the home.
⸻
🏡 Living Conditions
Please note that our living situation is very simple and off-grid.
Accommodation is in a shared volunteer cabin with bunk beds. Facilities include:
• An outhouse
• Outdoor shower setup
• Basic cooking space
There are no luxury amenities, and volunteers should be comfortable living simply and being connected to nature.
⸻
🍲 Food & Meals
There is space to prepare meals and some basic food items may be available.
However, if you have specific dietary requirements or preferences, you will need to supply those items yourself.
⸻
⏳ Preferred Length of Stay
Preference will be given to volunteers who are able to stay one month or longer, as this helps create consistency for the children and the household.
⸻
📌 Important Information
• Volunteers must be comfortable with children and animals
• This is a substance-free space
• Living conditions are basic and off-grid
• We do not provide letters for visa applications
⸻
