  Description

  Our Wings School is set in the beautiful surrounding of Suryabinayak, Chundevi, Bhaktapur, Nepal. Bhaktapur is a magnificent city with the best preserved old town in whole Nepal. The city is known as the “city of culture” and has an astonishing number temples, monuments and stunning pottery and wood art work. Furthermore, the city is surrounded by mountains and provides a magnificent view of the Himalayas.
  Our school welcomes learners from 2 years in play group up to 15 years in grade 9. Our Small class sizes, supervised by trained staff experienced in the teaching method we use, allow us to focus on the individual interest and needs of each learners and provide an interactive and diverse learning environment. We aim to provide our learners, education and training that fully contribute to their overall personality growth to develop their full potential and to be confident and independent in a natural environment. Therefore, all our classes are taught solely in English. Furthermore, we provide two meals each day, regular health check-ups, extra-curricular activities and very modern facilities.
  The School is determined to equip the learners with knowledge, skills and ability that enable them to adopt the best global practices, be prepared to bounce back the challenges appear on their way, and best adapt in the world of innovation and change. Taking in account the same determination, the school has been adopting pedagogical approaches that enable drawing out versatile human beings out of its learners, and prepares them to contribute to the present world through their diverse potential.

  Aide

  We are looking for motivated volunteers with teaching experience, who would like to support the teachers and interact with our wonderful learners. Teaching, playing, crafting and singing as well as enriching the children’s environment with your culture, spirit and ideas, are only a few possibilities on how you can get involved in our school. We are seeking volunteers who can teach sports, music or any other creative class, in order to support our teachers.
  In the lower classes, such as play group and nursery, you can be creative! Whether you play with the children, support them while eating lunch, put them down for their nap or simply comfort and cuddle them – they will shower you with their beautiful smiles and happiness.
  In the upper classes, such as grade 1-3=9, you can bring in your teaching expertise. We are using interactive teaching methods, where learners can read, speak, move and interact with each other. This style of teaching is only possible when classes are small and the other students do not get bored or distracted when one student speaks or writes on the board. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate any kind of help such as moving around the class, helping the children with their tasks, checking assignments and keeping them in their seats.
  Furthermore, we are constantly seeking improvement and would love to learn from you and your teaching experience. Fruitful interaction with the teachers, constructive feedback or taking over classes to introduce your teaching methods are a few possibilities of how you can get involved. If you possess good photography or IT skills, we would also greatly appreciate any help with keeping our website up-to-date.

  Hébergement

  Volunteers will stay either at school in a private room or with the principal of the school and his family. There you will experience the typical Nepali family life and enjoy breakfast and dinner together. Lunch and Snacks will be provided at school. You will have your own private room, a shared bathroom and fast WIFI. The house is in a very safe and beautiful area of Bhaktapur.
