  Art Centre – Art, Community & Creative Living in Finland
  
  Our art centre and residency, located in Joutsa, Finland, is an inspiring and relaxed international art hub. We are a warm, communal place where art — in all of its forms — is the driving force of everyday life.
  
  This is not just a workplace; it is a living, breathing, creative environment. Here you will find artists, musicians, thinkers, and builders sharing space, ideas, and meals.
  
  🎨 What happens here?
  
  During the summer, our art exhibitions, music concerts, workshops, and performances attract visitors from Finland and abroad. The atmosphere is vibrant, experimental, and welcoming.
  
  In the winter, the pace slows down. We host intimate art exhibitions, cozy music evenings, and focus strongly on our international residency program, welcoming artists and art students from all disciplines.
  
  ⏰ Work Exchange
  
  5 hours per day / 5 days per week
  
  Work schedules are agreed upon. We expect reliability, independence, and commitment during agreed working hours.
  
  🌸 What we are looking for in 2026🌸
  
  💪 April & May – Physical Helpers Needed💪
  
  In April and May, we especially need people who enjoy physical work. We build our large summer exhibition during this time, which means:
  
  -Carrying and moving artworks and materials
  
  -Building structures
  
  -Organising exhibition spaces
  
  -General hands-on preparation
  
  There is a lot of lifting and practical teamwork involved. If you like active days, working with your hands, and seeing concrete results, this is your time to join us.
  
  🥕 Vegetarian Cook Welcome🥕
  
  We are very happy to host someone who enjoys cooking vegetarian food. Shared meals are an important part of our community life. If you love creating nourishing, plant-based dishes for a group, you will be deeply appreciated here.
  
  🌼 Early Summer – Garden & Plant Care🌼
  
  At the beginning of summer, we need someone who enjoys:
  
  -Watering flowers and plants
  
  -Taking care of the garden
  
  -Keeping our yard and outdoor areas alive and beautiful
  
  If you find joy in tending to growing things, this is a peaceful and meaningful role.

  Qu'est-ce que c'est ?

  Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

  We are a creative community with international & local people, artists and cultural workers. As we also run an artist residency in the premises here is usually many interesting people working on their projects. Sauna is heated twice a week for the community.
  We are having a cat and a dog living in the house.

• 

  Aide

  We are looking for help with snow shoveling in the mornings, restoring and maintaining the sculptures of the art collection with the help of the landlord, gardening in the spring time together with the garden team and installing artworks outdoors. There is always need for a DIY type of people for different kind of works around the house and garden.

  Hébergement

  The workaways will be accomodated in a single or double room in the same house as the artists in residence. We have a big shared kitchen and living room which is the heart of the house . We have lunch or dinner together, depending on the project going on.

  there is a lot of forests, lakes, and rather beautiful nature within walking distance. Its not rare to see the northern lights from our garden. We have bikes, snow shoes and skies for communal use. And we always have coffee :)
