I am looking for help mainly in the wild garden. I am a Workawayer myself and believe that the experience of skill and idea sharing is absolutely the best! I try to live as sustainable lifestyle as possible and have a high regard for the environment. I enjoy the outdoors whenever possible and look forward to meeting Workaways! I would like to host for one week at a time. I don't cook meat but have no problem if anyone wants to buy and cook their own separately! I play banjo and mandolin so musicians especially welcome for a jam around the fire pit!!! If my situation suits you then please send me an email!

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
I live in rural Cornwall and love to travel myself. I am a host on other websites and also like to do car sharing. I love the idea of a shared global community, working together and sharing skills and ideas.
Aide
I have a wild garden that constantly needs help, weeding and trimming. I have many small projects that I would like to do. A small silted stream that I would like to clear and create mini waterfalls with recycled materials and other small artsy ideas. I am also adapting my loft into a cabin style sleeping space. I would like help from anyone with some of the skills necessary for any or all of these projects.
I would like shared cooking responsibilities to enable an exchange of cultures, perhaps the cooking of one or two meals in the week and help with the washing up after each meal, and I would also ask that helpers leave the accommodation as they find it.

Hébergement
Basic shared accommodation in a single roomed cabin in the garden that has no running water but access to an outside tap, or in a bunk bed in the main house with other lodgers. One washing load (laundry) per week but a visit to a launderette could be arranged.
Single applicants preferable due to basic minimal accommodation, but please contact me and ask!
I would also consider a well-behaved sociable dog, so again, please contact and ask.

There are very good walking opportunities right on the doorstep, a small railway station and also a bus service in the village which is very quiet and safe. The property is 5 miles from the sea, 15 miles from Bodmin Moor and 5 mins walk to beautiful woodlands. Also Cornwall is a touristic area and comes complete with many attractions!
There is one very well supplied shop, one church and a welcoming pub in the village for you to enjoy if you wish!
Jhair, was very pleasant and willing to help in necessary tasks. He was excellent with a wood saw and has left me with a fine tower of wood !
Communication was quite difficult, due to a language barrier, but we managed well with a little French to express our meaning or explain a task.
Jo is a truly wonderful and welcoming host — kind, understanding, and always ready to help. She made me feel at home from the moment I arrived, and working with her was a real pleasure. She is patient, cooperative, and positive, which made the work enjoyable and fulfilling. The only bad part was having to leave such a warm and peaceful place.… read more Thank you so much, Jo, for your kindness and generosity — I would be delighted to return one day!
Akram was an absolute pleasure to have around. He was very hard-working and attentive to the task, always smiling and good fun. We achieved so much more than I had hoped for in the week that he was here, all work was done with enthusiasm and a positive outlook. He is also a very good cook and most happy to demonstrate his skills in Algerian… read more cuisine.
I would welcome Akram back at any time and would highly recommend him. He arrived as a stranger and left as a friend. Thank you Akram
I had a lovely time at Jo's, Luxulyan is a very pretty little village and there are some great walks to do around the valley. The work was varied and interesting and the food was delicious. It was very nice to meet Jo's friends and spend time with them. I was given the opportunity to attend a sea shanty festival and got taken to the Stithians… read more Agricultural Show, both of which were fantastic experiences. Thank you, Jo!
Josh is a very polite person who is keen to tackle all jobs provided. He was well travelled and I would have liked to hear more of his experiences but unfortunately his books got in the way, he is an avid reader which is great but at times things were a little quiet! However I would recommend Josh to anyone considering a volunteer ! Thank you Josh

Our stay at Jo's was really nice and cozy. We helped her in the garden and with wood chopping, and she shared her space with us in the wooden cabin, which was a rather small space for 3, but we never had any problems with that, as we stayed for 9 days! Jo provided us with an amazing healthy food every day, we had good times working and relaxing… read more together with movies and biscuits :) this was a great experience, always good fun and positive energy flowing. Thank you Jo so much for everything and we'll be back to see your garden expanding!! X

Rayan and Ieva are the perfect work away couple, keen to work, learn and share knowledge. They were great company, with good environmental and systainable values, despite living in a shared space and I would happily have them back at any time - they come strongly recommended by myself!

I don't know how lucky I was to be the first workaway worker for Jo. She is always kind and friendly. Even though I only stay 5 days, I've done lots of things. Sometimes I worked on my own in the daytime and we spent time together eating and chatting in the nighttime. Jo was always nice to talk. I could arrange my time flexibly for work and… read more travel in Cornwall. Her dog Mily was extremely well behaved and super adorable ! I really had very great time with them ! Elena was a novice gardener but she had learned so much and had a very good work ethic. She is really friendly and respectful and it has been great fun having her here to help - we have achieved so much in a short time and I would definitely recommend any host to accept Elena ! You are welcome back at any time!
