    Description

We are both an in-house boutique gelato shop combined with a sweet and craft gallery. We are looking for workawayers to be paid in all areas with paid work working in the gelato or Sweet Gallery shops and the craft / design work (all areas paid) @$33 per hour for minimum of 15 hours per week. A potential national treasure art map depicting the fun and attractions of Australia. That will involve building Rock Art merchandise, from silicon moulds, same for a skilled as a graphic designer all paid work. Will also be focusing on basic bead and wire jewellery making this year. So more creative individuals for those activities. We normally work around six-eigth hours a day in the Summer season, but Winter as shops are mostly closed potentially around three-four hours per day on craft work. So approximately $500 per week for several hours daily, five days a week. In shop season September on-wards triple the hours and wage. Yes everything included / no charge no deductions, for food and accommodation for WHV holders... I unfortunately can only offer paid work, to WHV holders only, this is not an exchange host offer profile.I am a paid work badge holder, so all activities in Robe must fall under that badge rule.

Our hope is for easy-going, creative and adaptable travelers. You will share a house with Shane and other travelers. With now l am also offering another shared four bedroom two bathroom house with myself. (Neil)

25 years of traveling across the fairgrounds and the harvest fields throughout all of Australia, I can give a unique insight and empathy with the Workawayers as both of us are traveling the same footsteps of the adventures of being down under. As a self employed artist for 35 years, You will be given the opportunity to share both my artistic skills and my intention of developing a grassroots tourism marketing art map for Australia.

Initially I am seeking more graphic design / marketing creative background, as my main focus is to develop our map project along with building craft merchandise. This will be $33 dollars an hour for all WHV workers, regardless of creative skills..
This will be combined with hospitality retail service in the gelato ice cream shop and the jewellery and sweet shops. This includes serving customers, opening and closing of the shops, in-house ice cream production. The same hourly rate for working in any of our shops with some retail and service ability preferred, for that type of work for Australia work visa applicant (WHV) only. So the $500 /weekly for Winter minimal craft work, is more just basic financial motivation. I am really looking for individuals that are seeking to gain creative skills and have some level of engagement, with the community marketing project. ... With now just finishing our extremely busy summer season, entering Winter low trading season. I will add that my taking of long-term (several months out bookings) from international Workaways. Has been a little unsuccessful, with over 70% to 80% of bookings changing their life plans. Which l fully understand. As that's what traveling is all about... Perhaps though l will be a little less quick, to block out my future calendar . So any long-term host booking maybe taken more as an aspirational intention. (my thinking)..,Which will be more my tone of the reply back, if you send me a request message..As now entering Winter months, the shop work will be greatly reduced, but art maps project and building merchandise will now be the main priority.

You will be staying in two different 4 bedroom houses, in a residential area in a coastal town called Robe. You will be sharing the house with all the other workers and Shane, the owner, a 63 year old Australian who was born and raised in the district and can tell you all the sweet spots to visit and explore around town.
His and now (mine) the second house house are a few minutes bike ride from town and shop/gallery and bikes will be provided with helmets. If biking is not your thing and you do not own a car you will be able to walk anywhere in town as everything is a walking distance. Wifi is included (unlimited). There is a small veggie garden that is quite abundant in the summer. As introducing my own shared accommodation almost a minute to Shane's. You will potentially start at Shane's then if staying longer to join with me.
