  Description

  We are a small family with a big project. We are renovating an old half-timbered house from the 17th century, using sustainable materials where possible, such as clay. And let's be honest - that is a lot of fun (or can be). We do a lot of the work ourselves, but can always use some help. You would have your own space here with a kitchen and bathroom. You are of course welcome to join us at dinner etc. or just hang out if you want. But at least this way, you don't have to ;-) We are just a stone's throw away from two lakes where you can swim and yet we are in the middle of the "city", with local shopping within walking distance. Lübeck and Hamburg are also around the corner. Oh - and our little town has the best ice cream!

  Wir sind eine kleine Familie mit einem großen Projekt. Wir sanieren ein altes Fachwerkhaus aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und setzen dabei auf möglichst nachhaltige Rohstoffe, wie beispielsweise Lehm. Und ganz ehrlich, das macht einfach Spaß! Wir machen viel selbst, können aber immer etwas Hilfe gebrauchen. Du hättest hier deinen eigenen Bereich mit Küche und Bad. Du kannst natürlich immer mit uns essen oder abhängen, aber so musst du nicht und kannst auch mal deine Ruhe habe. Unser Haus ist nur ein paar Gehminuten von zwei Badeseen entfernt und trotzdem sind wir mitten in der "Stadt", mit den lokalen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Fußnähe. Lübeck und Hamburg sind auch um die Ecke. Ach - und in unserem Städtchen gibt es das beste Eis!

  Ratzeburg is great!! Especially in the summer. And Lübeck and Hamburg are super accessible by bus and train. We are generally very open and would be happy to integrate you into our family. On the construction site or in the garden, we try to do a lot of the work as a team. It's just more fun that way. And we also love to invite you to eat ice cream! You'll also learn a lot about old building methods and sustainable materials.
  
  Ratzeburg ist toll!! Besonders im Sommer. Und Lübeck und Hamburg sind super mit Bus und Bahn erreichbar. Wir sind generell sehr offen und würden uns freuen, dich in unsere Familie zu integrieren. Auf der Baustelle oder im Garten versuchen wir auch viel im Team zu arbeiten und auch zum Eis essen laden wir dich gerne ein! Außerdem lernst du hier viel über alte Bauweise und nachhaltige Materialien.

  Aide

  A bit of manual dexterity would be good. But we also had to relearn everything and for the really heavy work we have professionals.
  
  Ein bisschen handwerkliches Geschick wäre gut. Aber wir haben auch alles neu lernen müssen und für die richtig schweren Arbeiten haben wir Profis.

  Hébergement

  Our house has a 60 sqm apartment under the roof. With kitchen and bathroom and everything you need. It is very bright and yours as long as you live with us. The door to our apartment is open to you and you can also use the garden at any time.
  
  As for the meals: Since we have a small child, we have breakfast way too early for any normal person. But our fridge and pantry is stocked and accessible at all hours of the day.
  
  I work from home most days and would love some company during lunch (and yes, I cook). And dinner, we generally have together. A typical German “Brotzeit.”
  
  On top of that, the person staying with us has their own kitchen, in case they don’t want to use ours for that midnight snack. But the apartments are connected, so he or she is obviously welcome to hang out with us at all times.
  
  Oh, and because of the small child, we are very big on afternoon snacks :-D So almost like a fourth meal.
  
  
  Unser Haus hat eine 60 qm große Wohnung unterm Dach. Mit Küche und Bad und allem was man so braucht. Sie ist sehr hell und deine, solange du bei uns wohnst. Die Tür zu unserer Wohnung steht dir offen und auch den Garten kannst du jederzeit nutzen.

  In the morning at the bathing lake, in the morning at the construction site and at noon with us at the beach (at least in summer). Bus and train will take you to Lübeck or Hamburg in no time if you want to get a taste of the city air again.
  
  Morgens in den Badesee, Vormittags auf die Baustelle und Mittags mit uns an den Strand (zumindest im Sommer). Bus und Bahn bringen dich im Nu nach Lübeck oder Hamburg, wenn du mal wieder etwas Stadtluft schnuppern willst.
