Description
We are an hostal in la Floresta, a calm neighboorhood in Medellin, perfect for cycling and with good connections to the whole city. It is a cozy house, mostly made from recylced materials, where you can rest and meet travelers and paisas.

In the house, almost everything is home made, from woodcraft to handcraft. We live in a recycle low producer idea. If you have nice ideas, you are welcome to share and make them a reality:) We are organizing few cultural events like language exchange, cine nights so that might be something to participate in as well.
Aide
The volunteering is to clean the house and do general maintenance and reception. We need someone who helps 28 hours a week (schedule is quiete flexible, we can decide together what fits best). We have free wifi, open kitchen and laundry service. We have a very familiar atmosphere, being more a house to stay and enjoy eachothers company, rather than just a place to sleep.

The volunteer will have a bed in a dorm of 6 people with balcony plus a locker to put his stuff.
The all house is open, big commun areas, clean bathrooms.
Free access to the internet and laundry service (one time a week).

The traveler will have the possibility to visit Medellin (2nd biggest city of Colombia), a city full of museums, parcs, cultures, colors, dances ,accents, history, art and more.
The house is located 2 minutes from the metro Floresta. bus to the center straight in front of the house. There are 24h stores around, a 24h farmacy, restaurants, atm's... Once a week, there is a barbecue where local and travelers are sharing experiences, music, food ... Instruments of music are available and free. If you know how to play guitar, you can teach us:)
Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex is located 10 min by walk from the Guest house. There is aerobic, fitness, swimming pool, ping pong, football, basketball, volleyball, handball.. and all those are free... Also there is the possibility to take yoga classes (donation based) relatively closeby.
There are two metro cables in Medellin, one which goes to the barrio Santo Domingo and finally to Parque Arvi, which is a very nice national park to visit, to get some fresh air and enjoy nature. The other goes to Comuna 13 and is very cool to visit for its view and graffiti. And another metro ride, you will find El parque Berrio with all the famous Botero sculptures.
Further, Antioquia (the state of Medellin) is full of villages typicals paisas such as Santa fe, Jardin, Guatape, San Jeronimo, Santa Marta, Rio Negro, Rio Claro,... All more beautifull.
If you want to know Medellin life, this hostel it’s a cool way to get to knowother travelers, sleep for free and have time to explore the city and other close destinations.

I had a great experience at the hostel. The work, which was mostly cleaning, was easy and after 2-3 hours my day was free to do everything I want.
It was great getting to know all the people and share a lot of laughs aund deep conversations.
