Description
Hello everyone,
we are a family of four and live in beautiful Oldenburg in northern Germany. Our youngest member is Leto, who is just six weeks old. Enno, his big brother, will soon be three and is a chatty kid who loves having visitors. Plus, he never seems to get tired and loves being outside. Then there’s Dad Marcel (35)—he loves astrophotography, cycling, woodworking, and for him, a hobby quickly turns into a “super hobby.” I’m Nora (33); I enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee and swimming in the ocean and nearby lakes. We’re very involved in communal living projects. It would be a dream to live in one someday! In the past, we traveled a lot ourselves and explored various parts of the world. Now—with a family—we’ve settled in Oldenburg for the time being, but we’d be very happy to live with other people from time to time and get a taste of different cultures, ideas, and customs.
A year ago, we moved to this house in Oldenburg, which was already showing its age and in need of renovation. We’ve renovated the upper floor so that we can now live there comfortably. The kitchen is finished, and three rooms as well as the bathroom are ready to move into. Marcel and I are currently renovating the ground floor. We’re well-versed in sustainable construction and want to use natural materials. If this topic interests you, we’d love to chat, learn about your experiences and you’re more than welcome to join us for a day.
Oldenburg is a big city if you look at the population. But it doesn’t feel like one at all. Most people get around by bike, there are numerous beautiful lakes around Oldenburg, and the flat landscape is perfect for bike rides. We also love being close to the North Sea. In the summer, it’s wonderful to swim there and admire the Wadden Sea. We live in the northern part of Oldenburg, almost at the city limits. This means we can get out into nature in no time, yet still reach the main train station in 15 minutes by bike.

With us, you’ll get a real taste of everyday life! You’ll have your own room—a place to relax—but you’re always welcome to join us in the living room, the garden, or the kitchen. We’d love to do things together: head to the beach, take the kids to the playground, go on a rubber boat tour on the lake, or visit downtown Oldenburg.
Of course, you can also explore the area on your own. We have a bike for you, and you can also explore the whole city by public transportation. If you’re in the mood for a longer trip, you can drive to the beach or take the train to Bremen or Hamburg.
We look forward to spending time together, learning from each other, working on a new project we’ll tackle together while you’re here, sharing meals, baking pizza, making crêpe batter...
We, too, have had wonderful experiences with Workaway, Couchsurfing, and Wwoofing on our travels in recent years. We’d love to build on that.

Aide
We’re a family with two young children, and what we’d really like is a little help with everyday tasks. Exactly what that entails varies and depends on your interests and what you feel like doing. There’s plenty to do in the garden—we’d love to plant a few fruit trees, start a vegetable garden, and make the patio livable. There are no limits to your creativity here, and we’d love to have handy people with a green thumb (as our green thumb is limited) and an interest in plants. And then things can get a little hectic with kids who are hungry, drawing pictures, and spilling water from their watercolors over the floor. We’d love it if you enjoy spending time with children and dive into familiy life. This could include having fun playing a game with the older one or reading a book aloud, cooking lunch, or helping out a bit around the house.

We’d really love to brush up on our foreign languages again. We’re also looking forward to teaching you a little German, of course.
Hébergement
You’ll have your own room with a bed, table, and armchair, as well as your own small bathroom with a sink and toilet. You’re welcome to use the shower in our bathroom. We’ll cook and eat together in the kitchen, and in the summer, we’ll eat in the garden. Of course, you don’t have to join us for every meal—you can also just pack a picnic for an outing. Otherwise, you’re always welcome to hang out with us in the living room!

Autres infos...
Non-smokers only, please.
Feel free to reach out to us if you’re a small family. However, this is only possible in the summer and for a maximum of two to three people. A parent with a child is also welcome. We only have one room with two mattresses. We can provide a small children’s mattress for a child. In the summer, you could camp in the garden. We have a tent for 2–3 people. We have a relatively small kitchen—you’ll need to be a bit flexible and willing to try living together with us in a somewhat cramped space!
