    Update September 2023

*** Summary *** A boy (now 10 months old) was born from us!!!! : ) : ) : ) We are beyond delighted : ) And the new place that we care for and it cares for us, in Júzcar, consists of some buildings in 6 hectars of land in the absolute middle of the public forests... pretty wild ; ) The mare is finally here now! : ) And very hopefully with your help chickens and goats too : ) No need for cars within the place, sleeping in a tent or in the garage or in a little house or in your campervan can be the option for you for now ; ) Wifi can be available sometimes of the day... we like to have waves turned off : ) We´ve just arrived and are still in "moving in-clean-arrange-repair" mode. House sitters who care to preserve all that nature is giving can also be great sometimes in the year -ask : ) We are preparing the place for living in it and hopefully have it clean and ordered and pretty as soon as possible... for the greatest peace of mind ; ) And as soon as possible after that: to have super-respectful-with-the-wild concerts here in the mountains, a no-school-school (what?! ; ) a natural birthing house and more ; ) I´ll try to update pictures soon too : ) ... when to have free hands again is a mystery with this tiny newcomer ; ) *** Thank you!!! : )

PS: we are filling up a big water tank with the help of a neighbour till we can make our well in January 2024. We can take your clothes to wash in a laundry for sparkling clean no problem 😊

Hi, I´m María, a Spanish woman who loves Weston A. Price food -with which I need help-, treating animals from the mutual peace, listening and understanding that creates amazing connections -for which I am learning the Trust Technique-, live music, very especially such which can be played in nature and truly enjoyed also by the wild animals living there -for which I would love to have awesome musicians around for a dream I have.

And I am Cris... well, he is Cris. He prefers not to write nor talk much in general ; ) So I can tell you he is an awesome dad and partner and overall man, a wonderful human being whose title could be KINDNESS and LAUGHTER... he makes us laugh so much ; ) And he provides for us all incredibly, so caring-ly. Sensitive and giving. Humble and graceful. Great cook yet often with so many other things to do... so he can very much appreciate some one else taking the lead on that. He is a gardener of profession, and thus a natural great steward of the pieces of nature we are given.

Together and with baby we make a great pack : )

This dream of living in such amazing nature was first born out of the need to prepare a great emotionally and physically safe environment where our children (so far one came!) and the children of others who value this may grow very much in Freedom, learning all they are interested in, following their inner motivation, creating their lives. So one day, not very far from now, I wish this dream will soon come a reality : ) We are so far enjoying a lot the workawayers who come with awesome attitudes towards life and living their dream... they are the best company and inspiration vibrated around for the little one ; ) And FAMILES WITH CHILDREN OF ALL AGES ARE VERY WELCOME TOO : )

We believe in the magic created by different ages together playing and caring for each other. And our way of raising the kid, and what we are loving to have around, is one as similar to indigenous raising as possible... you may find hints in books such as "Hunt Gather Parent" or "The Continuum Concept"... as well as in any remote ancient culture´s living or books about them ; )

For us it was an inspiration seen and felt from inside that we have slowly discovered how in fact is the oldest way that works to raise kids ; ) ... and to live, finally... it is a way of living that works for all generations ; )

From our experience: visitors love the doing calm and happy things here, in our full responsibility each... the love bubble here... the absolute preciousness and wildness of the place, so intact, full of butterflies... the deep sharing from empathy and caring for each and everyone's needs together, the sensation of being cared for and of your help and presence being received very gratefully : )

About indigenous eating, the way that kept tribes healthy all over the globe for thousands of years: Right now the diet for me will be much focussed in what Weston A. Price discovered that indigenous cultures choose for wanting to conceive, pregnant and nursing women or women on their way to conceive... we are certainly in one of these stages : ) Long fermentation soughrdogh breads and bakeries -all sugar free-, fish eggs, organ meat, green leaves, butter, eggs, lactofermented vegetables... Please know that you do not need to know how to do absolutely everything before you come, maybe you are great at one thing and would love to learn the rest... that is great too. I might not be able to help you much with the learning other then helping you find the best and most harmonious-with-what-we-want resources to learn from, especially I might not be able to help much because many things I do not know myself, which is why I would so much love your help.

About indigenous education and living in general... we love it ; )

About natural birth... that's how we did it, at home... it was beautiful, sacred... a song was born soon after the baby... ; )

About zero waste living (to the max or our possibility right now : ) and improving ; ) ... so... indigenous use of resources after all ; )

By the way, we live by the energy of play that drives untouched indigenous people too, I feel it makes such a joyful life that brings serenity to the spirit and to the other beings around one self...

-BUILDING: bent wooden beam roof needs to be fixed (priority! with Autumn rain water might come in!!), garage turned into apartment (plumbing, carpentry, and separation walls and setting up doors and windows necessary), non cement stone walls be set around in nature to separate slopes from flat areas (now stones are neatly collected for that ; ) and as soon as we ask for permission and get it: building an eco stuff storage place (for 2 times in the year music festival stuff ; ) and other eco cool buildings for cool projects : ) Now we just arrived... : )

    So this means also:

-CARPENTRY: for building attic (nice priority, it would give us more space now towards winter to host for who does other things : ) , fixing pergola...

-PLUMBING: for connecting washing machine, creating underground plumbing for apartment before it is tiled (so priority!!)

We are always looking at doing efficient heating, own water depuration, reuse of water for garden... )

-"HUNTING FENCE" SETTING UP: wild boar has become a plague... of course turning it into an ally is great, yet for now we don't know more ways then having him hunted as food! Meanwhile they brake fences, and dig everywhere, moving stone paths... destroying anything on their way. So making super strong fences is a must if one likes to have a garden of some sort, either flowers or veggies... and any kind of natural composition different from a huge unworkable mess ; )

    So then also practical:

-HUNTING WITH A BOW AND ARROW (we would love to learn by the way ; ) -we find hunting to protect one´s dwelling or other animals from predators, or for eating, a very sacred thing, ancient ancient and part of the cycle to which we will certainly all give back.

-VETERINARY (who examines the organs and certifies for food)

-SLAUGHTERING AND PRESERVING: as in making ham, smoked preserved meat and such ; )

-FOOD: welcome volunteers fully in charge of the preparations of Weston A. Price foods, and all around it: pìcking fruits to make marmalades and other preserves, gathering wild edible plants for salads and cooking, sacredly cutting in pieces and rendering fat from animals brought for us to eat, using gratefully every bit of it, preparing and caring for a vegetable garden, making goat cheese and other such products from raw goat milk from here (coming, not yet ; )

    So, that includes:

-HARVESTING wild herbs and from trees... some examples: May-June cherries, June-July plums, brevas (early figs), blackberries and pears, July-August: blackberries, late figs, peaches and grapes, August-September: carob (elsewhere, 1h 30 min in car away), September-October-November: chestnut... actually after August we don't really know exactly because we have not been there yet ; ) As for edible wilds for tea, salads, cooking or medicine: so many ; )

-ANIMALS: An utmost respect and empathy for animals is required. There are a mare and a cat who might sometimes need your help with feeding and in general always your help with cleaning up their pasture with what can be great compost for the trees and the vegetable garden. Every now and then we will need to rotate them to a new land so that they can have fresh grass and for this we will need to fix up the mild electric fence elsewhere -we are preparing one with bamboo sticks and maximum zero waste, always a great value for us : )

-WATER: being super mindful with it! Aproximately January 2024 we will have built a well with all permissions. Meanwhile... in the drought of summer we are in "bathing with one cup of water Jane Goodall in the jungle" mode, washing dishes and all else ever so mindfully, hiking to river or natural pool to wash hair with natural products only... (we've got)... We are in the car getting water from the local spring to drink and cook and bathe : )

-WOOD: collecting and ordering the firewood for the year : )

-UPHOLSTERY/TAPESTRY: adjusting some fabrics to curtains, cushions... fixing... sewing machine available here : )

-OFFICE HELP: as mentioned in language part, so: phone calls to municipality and other places where to ask things, reporting results in a Trello page so we can get some kind of ordered doing out of it, talking what is necessary about it to advance... ; ) So being resourceful and happy about office stuff (that leaves me more time and space to be a real mum, not a stuck to devices mum... awesome ; )

-HOURS/DAY: About the hours a day to expect from you... it is not exactly mathematical, nor in the quantity nor in the rhythm, it is more of a tasks-done need what we have and would appreciate: that those tasks are done, and not only done, happily and peacefully done : ) The attitude with which things are done is for us everything, all is energy that we are pouring into what we do and who eats or touches or is touched by that will be nourished by the love put into it... so making things with utmost love, inspiration, motivation, care and devotion I feel is the only way.

Long stays of several months are by far our favourite choices, though shorter ones of awesome people are good too ; ) Even a stay of a year, or of years... We very much value wonderful bonds that get built and the energy and enthusiasm from creating more and more together, with the care for each other and the privilege of being there for each other only increasing with time.

We would very much like to hear all about you.

I've been a language teacher forever since I remember... always in a "learning in the field" way (like babies learn! : ) so simple ; ) so you could profit about that ; ) ... best if you are then helping with office stuff, since it has more words... I'm a very quiet person and very much enjoy to do the no words things (like harvesting, and so on, where words are not necessary) in a happy silence or singing... : ) Office help is great for being with lots of words ; ) You'll have to make phone calls, write down what they say, tell me things, I tell you... real life using of the language ; ) So best for intermediate to great level for practice... so that you can indeed be of help ; ) (Imagine: phoning townhall to see what is necessary to get the perimeter of the finca right... such phone calls... REAL LIFE ; )

  • Hébergement

Depending on how many you are and what you come with we can offer you:

    -small normal tent
-camping spot (for your tent or super hammock or under the stars)
    -parking spot (for your home-van)
-big white stand-up-inside white canvas tent (you or someone doing wooden deck and drainage for under necessary first) ... in this case full responsibility is necessary from you for setting it up, keeping it cero moist and in perfect state, and putting it back away dry and with a natural antimold treatment with borax.
-bed in garage with awesome wooden beam roof already and window... and that slowly hopefully with all of yours help is turning more and more into an apartment : )
-small house maybe only with super commitment to leave it cleaner and all round better than it was, upholstery and all included... it is all very nice materials: no sitting with a dirty butt on a couch, or putting a backpack or anything that was on the floor on any not floor surface or material/cloth... this only for super super careful people used to this care, finding it natural... and only when available, since it will be a birthing home for families to come and give birth naturally there : )

Normally I (María) am mornings till lunch time (which is somewhere around 2pm or 3pm) pretty quiet, in my muse- inspiration time... doing my things maybe singing... After lunch: we sleep about 2 hours siesta if possible with baby... So: prefering to share and organise together in the evenings, like from 6 pm to dinner (around 10 pm) and bedtime (around 11 or 12 pm... maybe in winter different ; ) earlier : )

Cris is quiet in general : )

We have also got a big canvas tent that, provided you take the responsibility for caring for fully regarding moisture and general maintenance and wrapping it up super clean once it will no longer be used, can be set up in nature for you or us to have a second place to stay : ) We can prepare in it a stove and all : )

So, for your organization: know that we sleep siesta here almost every day! That might mean sometimes a 2 hour (maximum) nap after lunch... sometimes it is just 40 minutes... sometimes nothing. Yet always that it is possible: it is a great healthy custom from our country that we love to keep.

I can´t wait for the enrichment in all directions that all this will bring.

Very much looking forward to hearing from you,

Initially you may choose to have your time off whenever you want as long as you get the foods and other things organized and done when necessary. So, there is full flexibility if you would prefer to go somewhere in the weekend or during weekdays... or in the morning or evening, as long as things are caringly done and in advance prepared for the days you will not be there. Also you might prefer to take a full week off, or each week 2 days... you say and propose how to organize it so that it works for all.

In your time off you can be in nature in that land or walking on beautiful trails around, visit nearby cultural places -there are those that teach how things were made in the old days: the making of blankets, of olive oil, of goat cheese...

You can go down to the beach in Costal del Sol, or if you like beaches wilder: to Cádiz (2 hours away by car).

Public transportation to and from here is tricky... there is just only one daily bus to and from Ronda and that is it. So far away trips are best done in your own vehicle or hitch-hicking. So far people liked and prefered to stay here and around in walking distance quite a lot... they found it really pretty and varied and magical here... and so do we ; )

We have got a 4G router that can be plugged wherever and I use personally and can share with you. It is off most of the day since we prefer a no-waves environment. I use it aproximately 4 hours during day time (sometimes while baby sleeps... and I am not sleeping) and like to have it available early morning and nights... in case I cannot sleep and all else yes... then I can have some internet time : ) Also if your needs are different, ask us if you could use a Spanish sim card we might have for you to put in your phone : )
