  My wife and I live on an over 200 year old ecological farm. The Roserhof is located in the small hamlet of Kühlenbronn, in the small meadow valley, in the middle of the Southern Black Forest Nature Park and in the UNESCO World Heritage Bisosphere Reserve Black Forest. We try to keep the Roserhof as original as possible and always have something to do. The Roserhof is surrounded by a large garden area full of perennials and roses, a cottage garden, a small orchard and various berry bushes. We harvest and process a variety of different fruits and vegetables each year for self-sufficiency.
  
  Patricia is a tour guide and speaks four languages (German, English, French and Spanish) fluently. She travels a lot in the tri-country area, but is usually at home in the evenings. I myself a social worker and work both in Freiburg and in my home office as a legal guardian.
  
  At the Roserhof also live three goats, chickens, two cats and Benny our farm dog.
  The Roserhof is also a popular accommodation on rental platforms. We rent out our attic room and regularly welcome international vacationers to stay with us.
  
  Kühlenbronn and the Roserhof are located directly on a steep south-facing slope with a fantastic view into the valley towards the south with a view of the Swiss Alps. Since Kühlenbronn is located at the end of a steep mountain road and directly at the edge of the forest, we have no through traffic. From here you can only continue on foot. There are countless hiking trails directly from the farm. Here it is perfect to relax and come to rest.
  
  The activities are varied and therefore the learning opportunities are great. Here you can try out new tasks and/or bring in and supplement your experience and knowledge.
  
  The recreational opportunities are mainly in the unspoiled nature around the farm. There are also cultural attractions such as Basel in Switzerland with its special museums or Freiburg as a green city with its impressive old town and the Freiburg Cathedral, about 60 minutes away by car.

  Meine Frau und ich leben auf einem über 200 Jahre alten ökologisch rundumsanierten Bauernhof. Der Roserhof liegt im kleinen Weiler Kühlenbronn, im Kleinen Wiesental, inmitten des Naturparks Südschwarzwald und im UNESCO Weltnaturerbe Biosphärenreservat Schwarzwald. Wir versuchen, den Roserhof so ursprünglich wie möglich zu erhalten und haben immer etwas zu tun. Der Roserhof ist umgeben von einer großen Gartenfläche voller Stauden und Rosen, einem Bauerngarten, einer kleinen Streuobstwiese und verschiedenen Beerensträuchern. Wir ernten und verarbeiten jedes Jahr eine Vielzahl verschiedener Früchte und Gemüse zur Selbstversorgung.
  
  Patricia ist Gästeführerin und spricht vier Sprachen (Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch und Spanisch) fließend. Sie ist viel im Dreiländereck unterwegs, aber im Regelfall abends zuhause. Ich selbst bin Sozialarbeiter und arbeite sowohl in Freiburg als auch im Homeoffice als gesetzlicher Betreuer.
  
  Auf dem Roserhof leben auch zwei Ziegen, Hühner, zwei Katzen und Benny unser Hofhund.
  Auch bei Mietplattformen ist der Roserhof eine beliebte Übernachtungsmöglichkeit. Wir vermieten unser Dachzimmer und begrüßen regelmäßig internationale Urlaubsgäste bei uns.
  Kühlenbronn und der Roserhof liegen direkt an einem steilen Südhang mit fantastischer Aussicht ins Tal Richtung Süden. Nach 15 Minuten Fussweg vom Hof erfreut uns immer wieder der Blick auf die Schweizer Alpen. Da Kühlenbronn am Ende einer steilen Bergstraße und direkt am Waldrand liegt, gibt es bei uns keinen Durchgangsverkehr. Von hier geht es nur noch zu Fuß weiter. Hier stehen unzählige Wanderwege direkt ab Hof zu Verfügung. Hier lässt es sich perfekt entspannen und zur Ruhe kommen.
  
  Die Tätigkeiten sind vielfältig und somit die Lernmöglichkeiten groß. Hier kannst Du Dich an neuen Aufgaben ausprobieren und/oder Deine Erfahrungen und Kenntnisse einbringen und ergänzen.

  We have traveled a lot in the past, and still do, and have experienced many cultures and countries. We love to get in touch with people from different cultures. This was also the reason why we offer our vacation room and also helped in the decision to post the Roserhof and its diverse experiences at workaway.
  Kühlenbronn and its people are real Black Forest people and still speak your dialect Alemanic! Here the old customs, festivities and traditions are still lived! Mass tourism does not play any role here in the Kleines Wiesental. That's why you can experience the original Alemanic culture up close!

  Wir sind in der Vergangenheit, und immer noch, sehr viel gereist ud haben zahlreiche Kulturen und Länder kennen gelernt. Wir lieben es, mit Menschen aus verschiedensten Kulturkreisen in Kontakt zu kommen. Das war auch der Grund, warum wir unser Ferienzimmer anbieten und half auch bei der Entscheidung den Roserhof und seine vielfältigen Erfahungsmöglichkeitn bei workaway einzustellen.
  Kühlenbronn und seine Menschen sind echte Schwarzwälder und sprechen noch Ihren Dialekt Alemanisch! Hier werden die alten Bräuche, Festlichkeiten und Traditionen noch gelebt! Die kleinbäuerliche Land- und Forstwirtschaft ist nach wie vor tief verwurzelt im Alltag der Einwohner. Der Massentourismus spielt bei uns im Kleinen Wiesental gar keine Rolle. Deshalb erlebt man hier die ursprüngliche alemanische Kultur hautnah!

  Aide

  We are looking forward to curious people with a knack for gardening and manual skills who approach the tasks and activities independently and with ambition and are happy about the work done at the end of the day.
  
  The work to be done would be:
  Help with repair and maintenance work on the various buildings and in the garden
  independent gardening work such as pulling weeds, mowing the lawn, cutting shrubs and bushes
  assistance in planting different kinds of field vegetables in the cottage garden
  Ongoing maintenance of the garden during the growing season
  Helping with the harvest in the cottage garden, berry bushes and fruit tree meadow
  Processing and preserving the harvest
  Taking care of the various domestic animals.
  Looking after the animals at the weekend when we are not on the farm.
  Cleaning shared washroom and hallway!
  We have a minimum of stay of 2 week

  Wir freuen uns auf neugierige Menschen mit einem Händchen für Gartenarbeiten und handwerklichem Geschick, die selbständig und mit Ehrgeiz die anfallenden Aufgaben und Tätigkeiten angehen und sich über die getane Arbeit am Ende des Tages freuen.
  
  Die anfallenden Arbeiten wären:
  Mithilfe bei Reparatur- und Instandsetzungsarbeiten an den verschiedenen Gebäuden und im Garten
  selbstständige Gartenarbeiten wie Unkraut zupfen, Rasenmähen, Stauden pflegen, Beerensträucher und Gehölze schneiden
  Mithilfe beim Anpflanzen verschiedener Gemüsesorten und Kräuter im Bauerngarten
  Laufende Pflege des Garten während der Wachstumsphase
  Mithilfe bei der Ernte im Bauerngarten, der Beerensträucher und auf der Obstbaumwiese
  Verarbeitung und Haltbarmachung der Ernte
  Versorgung der verschiedenen Haustiere.
  Tiere versorgen am Wochenende, wenn wir nicht auf dem Hof sind.
  Reinigung vom gemeinsam genutzten Badezimmer und Haupteingang.
  Wir haben ein Minimum von 2 Wochen!

  As accommodation for your stay at the Roserhof you can use our cozy, fully equipped room in our barn, with a double bed and the covered outdoor kitchen right next to it. Here you can cook all to yourself, relax and enjoy yourself.
  The large fully equipped bathroom in the main house, right next to the barn we share. You can use the garden and the various seating areas with a view of the valley at any time.
  You usually cook for yourself in the covered outdoor kitchen. The necessary food is provided free of charge! On the weekends we can cook and eat together or barbecue at the campfire.

  Als Unterkunft für Deinen Aufenthalt auf dem Roserhof steht Dir unser gemütliches, vollausgestattetes Zimmer in unserer Scheune, mit einem Doppelbett und der überdachten Outdoor- Küche direkt daneben, zur Verfügung. Hier kannst Du ganz für Dich alleine kochen, entspannen und es Dir gut gehen lassen.
  Das große voll ausgestattete Badezimmer im Haupthaus, direkt neben der Scheune nutzen wir gemeinsam. Den Garten und die vielfältigen Sitzgelegenheit mit Blick ins Tal kannst Du natürlich jederzeit nutzen.
  Du kochst im Regelfall für Dich selbst in der überdachten Outdoor-Küche. Die notwendigen Lebensmittel stellen wir Dir kostenlos zu Verfügung! An den Wochenenden können wir gerne gemeinsam kochen und essen oder am Lagerfeuer grillen.

  The recreational opportunities are mainly in the unspoiled nature around the farm. In about 90 minutes walk is the Nonnenmattenweiher. HIer you can take a cool bath on hot days. Otherwise there are countless hiking and mountain bike tours around the Roserhof. Two mountain bikes are at your free disposal.
  There are also cultural attractions such as Basel in Switzerland with its special museums or Freiburg as a green city with its impressive old town and the Freiburg Cathedral, about 60 minutes away by car.
  Public transport is available from Wies, the nearest main town 4 km away. From here Basel, Lörrach or even Freiburg is easy and inexpensive to reach. There is also the possibility during the week in the morning to go with me to Freiburg and in the afternoon back.

  Die Freizeitmöglichkeiten liegen vor allem in der unberührten Natur rund um den Hof. In ca. 90 Gehminuten befindet sich der Nonnenmattenweiher. HIer lässt sich an heißen Tagen ein kühles Bad nehmen. Ansonsten gibt es unzählige Wander- und Mountainbiketouren rund um den Roserhof. Zwei Mountainbikes stehen zur freien Verfügung.
  Es gibt auch kulturelle Sehenwürdigkeiten wie Basel in der Schweiz mit seinen besonderen Museen oder auch Freiburg als green city mit seiner beeindruckenden Altstadt und dem Freiburger Münster, in rund 60 Autominuten Entfernung.
  Öffentlichen Nahverkehr gibt es ab Wies, dem nächsten 4 km entfernten Hauptort. Von hier ist Schopfheim, Schönau, Basel, Lörrach oder auch Freiburg zu erreichen. Es gibt auch die Möglichkeit unter der Woche morgens mit mir nach Freiburg zu fahren und am Nachmittag zurück.
