Description
Hi, I’m Amanda. I live here with my wonderful family of five, including my three children ages 6, 11, and 14. We are a warm and welcoming family who love our beautiful city and all the rich culture it has to offer.
We homeschool, and my children and I speak English and Spanish fluently. This makes it easy for us to communicate and share languages with you, whether you're a beginner or an advanced speaker.
Our family is passionate about exchanging cultural knowledge and experiences. We would love to help immerse you in Bolivian culture, from our delicious food and local traditions to the rhythm of daily life here in Sucre. We also enjoy learning about other cultures, so your stories and experiences will be a treasure to us.
If you’re looking for a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and share in a loving family environment, we’d be delighted to welcome you into our home.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Our family lives in the peaceful countryside just outside Sucre, but we drive to the city regularly. This gives us the best of both worlds—quiet rural life and the vibrant energy of Sucre. As a guest in our home, you’ll have the opportunity to experience both.
We often attend local celebrations such as birthdays and weddings, which we’d love to share with you, as well as cultural events in our city. These events are a wonderful way to immerse yourself in Bolivian culture, traditions, and community spirit. We also enjoy exploring Bolivia, and it’s not uncommon for us to hop in the car for a road trip to nearby towns or cities.
Having grown up in the U.S., I have a deep appreciation for the richness of Bolivian culture, and we are always intentional about learning more about this beautiful country. At the same time, our family loves connecting with people from different parts of the world. We’re excited to hear your stories, learn about your culture, and share our own experiences with you.
This is a space for meaningful cultural exchange, where you can feel part of our family, explore Bolivian life, and share your unique perspective with us.Projets impliquant des enfants

I recently opened a gymnastics club here in Sucre, inspired by my daughter’s love for the sport. With limited options locally for her to continue training, we decided to create a space where young girls can learn, grow, and thrive through gymnastics.
We’re looking for someone with experience in gymnastics who would love to share their skills and passion as a coach. You would be working with a group of enthusiastic and loving girls ages 6 to 13. They are eager to learn and would warmly welcome you into their community.
Your tasks would include:
Teaching new gymnastics techniques and skills.
Helping the girls improve their overall performance and confidence.
Collaborating with our other coach (you won’t be the only one!).
Fluency in Spanish is not required, as I can assist with translation when needed. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your expertise while also experiencing the vibrant culture of Sucre.
We’d love to work together, exchange skills, and create an enriching experience for everyone involved. If you’re passionate about gymnastics and enjoy working with kids, we can’t wait to welcome you to our team!Langues

I taught my children English through complete immersion, starting with a 'cold turkey' approach. If you're interested, we’d be happy to help you improve your Spanish using similar methods.Hébergement
We have two places where you can stay during your time with us: our home in the countryside or our convenient apartment in the city. At both locations, you’ll have your own private bedroom and share bathrooms with our family.
We spend most evenings and weekends in the countryside, where we sleep and enjoy the quiet. However, during the day, we’re often in the city for activities and typically use the apartment as our base. You’re welcome to choose what works best for you—either stay exclusively in the city apartment or join us as we move between both places.
In Bolivia, lunch is the main meal of the day, and we look forward to sharing it with you! Depending on the schedule, our shared meal could sometimes be dinner instead. For other meals, we’re happy to provide ingredients so you can help yourself. We love spending mealtimes together, as they’re a wonderful opportunity for conversation and connection. However, if you prefer to have some meals on your own, that’s perfectly fine too.
We’re excited to welcome you and make sure you feel at home wherever you stay!Autres infos...
There is plenty to do during your time off. Just a walk in the city is quite entertaining. There are lovely museums and during the evenings there are often cultural events like concerts and performances. There is even a place to go bungee jumping if you're into that.
Getting around is not complicated because it is a small city. A taxi can take you anywhere or we can teach you how to use the bus. I can drive you whenever I'm available.
We are a family with kids, and we do not allow smoking, drinking, or drugs in the house. You probably won't have much in common with us if you are into any of these three things anyway. On Sundays, we go to Church, and you are more than welcome to join us, but we understand if you choose not to.Informations complémentaires
