    Description

My name is Claudine. I am a retired but very active French Acadian woman. I love gardening, growing herbs for teas, tinctures and salves, line dancing, music, connecting to the divine universe and meeting people from any walk of life.

I am Acadian French and fluent in both English and French. I can share what I know about my Acadian cultural heritage including the traditional food, fishing traditions and local attractions including the Grotto and bird forest. I have a kayak and a canoe and I am waterfront so there is easy access to the water. I worked at a local plant nursery for 23 years. I can also teach you about organic gardening, about making medicinal tinctures and salves as well as making cuttings and plant propagation methods, preserving food and making teas. I enjoy meditation and love talking about healing energy such as reiki.

I would love help with gardening my fairy medicinal herb garden next to my home as well as the larger garden I have in the community garden nearby. I am looking for help during the garden season with planting, transplanting, weeding, harvesting and preserving the herbs , flowers, teas and vegetables that I grow. I may also at times need help with digging clams and the odd task in the house.

I have a double bed in my spare bedroom in my waterfront cottage. The home is small but comfortable with amazing views of the river estuary that leads out to the ocean. I provide breakfast, lunch and dinner and the meals will be healthy food including organic or locally grown vegetables, meat, seafood and eggs. If you are vegan or vegetarian or have other requirements we can discuss your needs.

There is a lot to do and see in the local area - I am right on the ocean and so activities such as kayaking, canoeing, swimming at local beaches and the local raft in the channel are all activities that you can enjoy. I have some floating loungers for you to use to relax on the water. Nearby are the villages of Richibucto, Rexton and Saint Louis de Kent and Kouchibouguac National Park with kilometers of trails and a long sandy dune beach. There is no local transportation but I have one bike available for guests to use. If you don't have a car there is a local bus stop for Maritime Bus services in nearby Rexton where I can pick you up.
