Description
We are a young Kiwi–French couple living in Annecy with no children. We both work full-time (sometimes from home, sometimes travelling), and we enjoy meeting people from different cultures. We’re curious, easy-going, and love cooking, hiking and exploring the Alps.
We would love to host a Workawayer primarily for the cultural exchange: sharing languages, learning about each other’s backgrounds, discovering new recipes, and having someone join in the rhythm of daily life here. Hosting is an opportunity for us to widen our perspectives, practise English/French together, and enjoy international friendships at home.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We can speak together in French or English depending on your goals. We’re happy to help you practise conversation, learn expressions, correct pronunciation, or exchange language tips.
Beyond language, you’ll experience life in a typical Alpine town:
- join us for cooking experiments or French/Kiwi meals
- discover local traditions, markets and mountain culture
- learn about the area’s outdoor lifestyle
- enjoy hikes, lake swims, skiing, and the vibrant cultural scene of Annecy
We enjoy spending time with our Workawayers — sharing meals when possible, chatting in the evenings, or exploring something nearby on weekends if schedules align.

Aide
The help we’re looking for is very light and simply part of sharing a home together — things like tidying common areas, helping with daily tasks, occasional cooking, or picking up a few groceries if you’re already out. Nothing is professional or demanding, and we don’t rely on this help as a replacement for hired staff.
Think of it as contributing to the smooth running of the household while being part of our day-to-day life. The tasks usually take no more than 1–2 hours a day, leaving plenty of time for you to explore Annecy and the mountains.
We’re flexible and happy to adapt tasks depending on your interests — whether you enjoy cooking, organising, or sharing creative ideas.

Hébergement
You will have your own space on the mezzanine level of our T2 apartment (50m²) with a double bed and a desk. The mezzanine is not full height, but it is cosy and private. We share the bathroom, kitchen and living room, and there is a large terrace (30m²) to enjoy meals, sunshine, or quiet time.

Autres infos...
We live in the small village of Villaz, just outside Annecy. It’s a peaceful place at the foot of the mountains, with everything you might need within walking distance — a supermarket, bakery, cheese shop, pharmacy, doctor, cash machine and regular buses to Annecy’s city centre.
In your free time, there is plenty to explore, whether you love the outdoors, food, culture or simply relaxing:
Nature & Outdoor Activities
- Hiking trails start directly from the village, including routes up to Plateau des Glières and Mount Veyrier.
- Lac d’Annecy is only a short bus ride away for swimming, paddleboarding or lakeside picnics.
- In winter, several ski resorts (La Clusaz, Le Grand-Bornand) are easily accessible for skiing, snowboarding or snowshoeing.
Annecy & Surroundings
- Wander the old town, canals and markets.
- Explore museums, historic castles and local festivals.
- Enjoy cafés, restaurants and the lively cultural scene.
Transport
Buses run regularly between Villaz and Annecy, making it easy to reach the lake, city centre, train station or connections to nearby towns. If you enjoy cycling, there are also beautiful bike routes around the area.
