Help with butterfly-rearing and translation near Cali, Colombia

  Description

  We are a warm, welcoming, and outgoing couple who love nature, and are passionate about educating people about the natural world and the environment. We live 15 minutes away from Cali, amid our butterfly sanctuary and environmental education centre – The Foundation – surrounded by 15 species of butterfly, flowers, birds and hummingbirds, as well as a 2000m2 to-scale map of Colombia in the garden! Our main focus is on welcoming tourists and giving them fully guided tours around here, and receiving school groups for whom we provide creative and educational workshops. After starting this place from scratch 20 years ago, we are thrilled that it has consistently been among the top 3 most popular attractions in Cali on Tripadvisor for the last 4 years (even taking the number 1 spot in 2015!).
  
  Help
  
  From our Workaway guests, we are looking for help in 3 areas:
  
  1) Help with running workshops for school groups
  
  2) Help in the lab with rearing butterflies
  
  3) Help with improving our online presence.
  
  We receive many requests from workawayers, and so regrettably we can only accommodate people with skills and experience in at least one of the following areas (ideally more than one): education/recreation with children, performing arts (theatre, music, puppets, clowns, circus etc), biology/zoology/butterfly knowledge, graphic design, videography/photography.
  
  Please note that if you do not have skills/experience in the given áreas, please do not request to stay since we will not be able to receive you. Also, at the moment we only have space for 1 workawayer at a time, so unfortunately we cannot accept couples.
  
  p.s. people who can help us practice English or can cook well are a plus!

  With previous guests, we have taken them on cycle rides, visited Cristo Rey, taken trips into Cali, gone to Salsa carnivals, and generally welcomed them as part of the family and local community.

  We look very creative friendly people , athletes who like to share with your family, lead a quiet and easy on the outskirts of the city life, just ask our volunteers meet the minimum guarantees to have a nice exchange.
  
  1. ask volunteers to be responsible with their personal hygiene , commonly we serve children and tourists which we require good presentation.
  2. Bring the essential elements of personal hygiene.
  3. Our activities begin at 7:00 am
