Description
Hello there! I am Florent from Belgium, living mostly in Brazil for 6 years now. I did a PhD in the area of sustainable aquaculture and I am currently starting the construction of a spirulina farm (micro-algea >> superfood) and a house. This house is built with the superadobe technic, which consist basically in filling bags of earth, used as walls. We are on the top of a hill with a beautiful view of grassland and forest as far as our eyes can see. Located in São Luiz do Paraitinga, 2 hours from São Paulo and 1 hour from Ubatuba, where you can find wonderful tropical beaches. The land is 35 minutes on foot and 10 minutes by car from the centre of São Luiz do Paraitinga. It is a small touristic city with colonial style well preserved, various cultural events and provided with supermarkets, retail stores, hospital and some bars and restaurants. I would be very glad to welcome you to work to this project and to share good time together.

You will be working in the construction of the house mostly with Enrique, a talented brazilian worker who likes to share his knowledge and experience with others.
Moreover, Sao Luiz do Paraitinga is an historical city with frequent cultural events, inhabited by a lot of musicians and welcoming people, which facilitates cultural exchanges.
Aide
The main part of the house is already built but we will need help in the construction of another room with superadobe walls, natural coat and a flat roof. We will also need some help with the construction of a greenhouse and a tank used to grow the micro-algae spirulina. Also cooking sometimes, if you want to.

Hébergement
There are two brand new rooms, which will be the lab, that are currently used to host volunteers. We also have a regular bathroom and an equipped kitchen.

10minutes by car: São Luiz do Paraitinga, there are some sport activity as biking, horse riding or rafting.
1h by car: Ubatuba, there are plenty of beaches with good spot to surf, waterfalls, a lot of bars dancing forró.
2h20 by car: São Paulo, rich in cultural activities, nightlife.
They are plenty of buses or carpooling as blablacar (~3 euros for Ubatuba and ~6 euros for São Paulo). Moreover, as I go sometimes in Ubatuba or São Paulo, you may enjoy a ride.

It was a real pleasure having her in the project and having good conversation around the campfire.
The week days are four hours working, the rest of the day i could enjoy swimming in the river just down the hill or just read sitted on a hand made rustic sofa with an amazing landscape view.
